These are by far the best weapon instructional videos I have seen. The way they are explained, the cut scenes for a closer look, all the descriptions, everything. Nothing we don't need, everything we do. Well done.

This man really just installed the barrel of a combat rifle in 5 minutes using a punch, screwdriver, and small wrench, all without needing a vise or torque wrench? Nice!

IWI, please make more barrel wrenches. The entire internet is sold out, with many saying that you've discontinued the part, for a rifle that you still sell nonetheless.

Great video. My question is, if I purchased an x95 with an 18.5” barrel, could I purchase a 16” barrel and switch it out? Any videos on this topic?
@georgiafan661811 ай бұрын
IMO I think you can. Your handguard is ok for the 16” so it will work and you won’t have to get a tax stamp bc it’s not a SBR - it’s still legal length. Good luck.
@BunyipDude4 ай бұрын
I’m hoping to do the same thing someday. I have the 18.5” model with a P/Wed flash hider because I live in MD, where semi-auto rifles have to have a 29” overall length. But someday, if that law is ever repealed, I hope to get the 16” barrel.

Great instructive video. Covering the important bit about the charging handle... But why aren't ALL the bolts/screws the same size.. surely that would aid maintenance? One is imperial, one is metric and one is Philips screwdriver... Maybe on the X96..?

I see why cocking handles are so hard to come by. I made the common mistake of forgetting to pull it out before turning the barrel nut. Fortunately I was able to straighten it in a vice.

I just acquired an x95. Due to market shortages, I bought a right handed 18.5" model. Since I'm a lefty, I ordered a lefty barrel/bolt kit. The rifle came with a dual extractor right hand bolt. The lefty kit came with a single extractor left hand bolt. The new barrel also came with a bayonet log pre-installed. The lug prevents pulling off the foregrip like shown in the video (or installing it as I learned). Also the new barrel did not have the "hammerhead" barrel band (which isn't discussed in the manual). I know it sounds like I'm griping, but what's the official recommendation for dealing with a bayonet lug?
@Gunderland Жыл бұрын
Not super happy that the barrel wrench isn’t included with my gun. If your going to make a tool specific only to your gun that I can’t buy anywhere else, then just up the MSRP by $15 and include it! Plus, you guys were sold out of them for awhile on your website. I have a half way disassembled Tavor now sitting on my bench while I wait for the tool in the mail…😑

Excellent video. Thanks. Two questions if I may... I've had my barrel off a couple times, but never used LocTite when re-installing the screws. Mine have never come loose in a few thousand rounds of use. Have you ever seen these screws come loose if LocTite isn't used? I think my X95 is an older version. I don't have the "hammer head" piece. If I want a new charging handle (cocking rod), does that piece come with the new rod and can it be installed without removing the muzzle device?
@fellintooblivion6 жыл бұрын
I just realized mine doesn’t have that piece either but I’m not sure if that means it’s an older version or a newer one. The video says that it’s there to lock the charging handle into place and mine seems to lock just fine so it seems like it might be a refinement which would mean it’s a newer model. On the other hand they could have found that the locking system was inadequate so they added that piece in newer models. To confuse things even more he says it’s a difference between the IDF version and the one in the states seemingly indicating the IDF versions don’t have it and if the piece isn’t being used in the version actuallys eeing combat, how necessary is it?
@thomasalibrando72786 жыл бұрын
Its good to do it as a precaution if the screw isn't tightened enough. You don't want it vibrating loose during firing.
@redhead52225 жыл бұрын
IWI changed the design of the charging handle. If yours doesn't have the "hammer head" piece, if you need a replacement, you'll need to call IWI to make sure to get the old one. They are not interchangeable. I know this because I too crunched my charging handle and had to call them to get an older version one.

My barrel in my X95 doesn't look exactly like the one in the video. & my so-called hammer head looks different. Between the(so-called) hammer head & the teflon ring (donno if mine is teflon) is a circular groove around the barrel.

I got a question I accidentally used a 30 caliber bore snake pulling it through the muzzle end and it was really really tight is there any chance that could have bent my barrel I know it sounds like a dumb question but there was a lot of pressure going up and out
@kwb377 Жыл бұрын
No...the barrel snake is softer than the barrel. No chance of bending the barrel...unless your last step of barrel cleaning involves beating the barrel with a 4 lb. sledgehammer.

I would advise the shooters to turn their hand so the fingers are upward and grasp the charging handle with their little finger, The reason is that In case the round fires while you are holding the charging handle , the charging handle will go to the rear without impacting your fingers or thumb as it would if you had your fingers down, then the charging handle would impact your thumb possibly breaking or damaging your thumb or palm. Just a PSA for shooters
@blueknight103015 жыл бұрын
Mick Rising I don’t understand what you mean. The charging handle (cocking bar) does not reciprocate.

So I bought an x95 under the impression I can switch it to left handed without the need of purchase of a conversion kit. I'll be pretty upset if I need to buy a kit because all of iwi advertising says completely ambidextrous with no mention of an extra purchase.
@motocrusader724 жыл бұрын
You don’t need a conversion kit to go from right to left. Should be good to go as is.
@bozscaggzz74754 жыл бұрын
@@motocrusader72 You actually have to send it to IWI or a certified Smith and they convert it for you. They stopped selling the parts to the public. Their reasoning is that they have to verify the head spacing with the new bolt. User cannot do it themselves. It costs about 150 total and there is no other way to do it

■İt's not a true barrel change. ■İt's too complicated to remove the barrel. ■True weapon concept must be that; ●The weapon must have one piece monolithic body(no handguard removal). Thus,all you gotta do is to remove the barrel by rotating the barrel locking screw on the receiver.
