Some play it faster and louder, but always appreciate Wunders insistence on it being music. In the end something more satisfying.

surely a beatiful interpretation, istead of playing it like a show off (Yuja Wang cof cof), i like Lucas Debargue interpretation on this piece too.

Bravo, Ingolf! You do the rinforzandos! Not every pianist does them, unfortunately. Wonderful performance.

Most pianists think that how much faster you play Liszt better its gonna be, but Liszt sounds really perfect when played with emotion and on a good tempo. The interpretation of Wunder is divine, so much dynamics and expression, i would prefer the intro a bit slower, just for my taste.

Damn, Ingolf, your touch is amazing in here. I've listened this performance before, but now listening to this after playing it a couple of times in public, damn... Your phrases, the amazingly progressive crescendos. ❤️🤤 I wanna play like you when I grow!

Interesting : he plays a tremolo on the left hand at 2:04 instead of the original glissando (which is very tricky to achieve) on both hands

I don't think I have heard a more convincing Mephistopheles! His playing is so incredibly rich in nuance, it makes for an almost cinematic listening experience. He absolutely nailed the character of this piece in my opinion. It might be due to the recording setup or my own audio, but I feel like the treble sounds really weak at times. I somehow really enjoy it though. The bass is overpowering in the finale, but it makes all the virtuosities in the right hand that come before it seem a lot more effortless.

7:25 I love the way he doesn't overdo the crescendo in the right hand here, and instead puts the emphasis on the left hand, hard to pull off technically. I find it makes the sound less shimmering and glittery, but much more sinister and in the spirit of a mischievous Mephisto.

He breathes, thing that other pianists do not do. This piece has already a lot of times to demonstrate fingers.
