The best thing about Wunder is that he's willing to play Chopin pieces that aren't as well-known or popular.

I love the Bolero and can't understand why it isn't performed more often. There's lots to love in it! I also love Ingolf Wunder's performance here--it's clear that he loves the Bolero, and that love makes this a stirring and radiant performance!

Very nice interpretation, most versions I’ve heard I don’t like - this is a very unusual piece but does have some stunning moments in it - I think it does have to have a certain flow to it (as here, with a few exceptions) to give it that elegant 19th century aspect, like when Italianate style for houses was replacing Greek Revival and Jenny Lind was about to become the first important entertainment celebrity.

I'm thrilled he brought this work to the competition - probably the only time we'll ever hear the Bolero in such a high-profile context. Having said that....his touch and overall approach to the main A minor theme (1:53) is a bit heavy for my taste. I think a brisker tempo and lighter/more flirtatious attack is needed there.
@xqf8683 жыл бұрын
well that’s subjective. Personally, i like his strong and forceful touch very much

Bolero is an underrated piece, Bolero is a masterpiece 💗💗💗 see how Chopin started with a prélude of sorts then you can hear polonaise, waltz, mazurka and Balade air. Chopin was the greatest genius born in this world. Haaa, do you know what Chopin is saying?? He's p*ssed, he's angry, thinking to himself, he was a GOD ♥️❤️❤️ Chopin I mean. You are allowed to play any Chopin composition in the second and third stage, the first sonata is just way too obscure, very few people ever pick it up to learn, let alone master.
