Seeing this, I guess I finally understand Sakurai's play style design for Ganondorf. Though I don't agree with his move set, Sakurai made it work to fit his character. Ganondorf is never a character to let your guard down on simply because you think your character can out pace him. The Laws of Power aren't based on physical capabilities but on manipulating everyone to think you are more than just of human, something they should fear and learn to respect.

As soon as you think you're better than him, Ganon will shit on you with one of his many powerhouse attacks, be it F smash, F tilt, U smash, Bair, you name it.

bruno213 the problem starts in melee, he has a movement oriented kit, but he is slow, that’s pretty much the issue with ganon’s design, as for canon stuff idrc if we made him canon to oot he wouldn’t work, he wouldn’t be ganon at his core, and if we gave him a sword for his whole moveset he would be too strong of a design

This video, much like all of the others in the "art of" series, was absolutely phenomenal. It depresses me to no end when top players say, "Don't use this character - he sucks". But then I see a video like this, which instead focuses on all of the positive options a character has, and immediately my mind starts imagining a metagame where every single character is viewed as a threat. It might just be a pipe dream, but this sort of perspective is a very refreshing (and sorely needed) take on the depth hidden in Smash. Thanks for all your work, Izaw!

I recently ran across some tech while training. I footstooled bowser as mario in 2/3 speed and accidentally used nair. the result was that the footstool was cancelled and bowser went into the footstool animation for a couple of frames and was then hit by nair. Idk if this is new or old but if anyone could provide some insight it would be great. I was wondering if I should post this anywhere else

You get out-spammed in 90% of all cases. The worst thing? It requires ZERO skill to defeat a ganon, even a good one, just pick a spammy character and hit those buttons! Watching Ganondorf do backflips (up airs) to dodge those projectiles is one of the most anime styled things I've ever seen in this game.

The important thing is respect. But also fear. Bun mostly respect, and the ability to disrespect the fear of the opponent's respect. But fear is only disrespecting the opponent's disrespectful fear by making him fear your own respect. You need to elevate fear by droping the respect... oh, and also you need courage.
