@DJ Hayes as far as I know Andy wasnt happy in the band he wanted to take more of a lead. Didn't really agree with the way the music was going wanted to do his own thing. He was supposed to come back with John after Power station said he would but dragged it out. The band thought he would come back but where getting calls from future member Warren to say I heard your looking for a guitarist. Things turned sour Andy was suing the band . He came back in 2004/5 but it didn't last long as old tensions araised

@DJ Hayes Duran Duran sued Andy Taylor to force him in to the studio to complete the album Notorious because he was in breech of contract but he ended up playing on only a few tracks before departing the band completely. He later countersued to claim some of the royalties from that album.

@DJ Hayes yes he definitely had a huge ego trip. I guess when he came back it became clear that both him and the others hadn't really got past what had happened . Like John left in 1997 for a few years but their was never an ill feelings between him nick or Simon . And I don't believe he ever truly left as he was a founding member x
