I bought one from amazon, it keeps on complaining sd card not formatted if a card is formted on windows; so I have to format using the device; but when I format with the device, it does not record when press the ok button; and when connecting to storage mode, windows thinks the sd card is not formatted. firmware version is 1.00, any suggestions?

Regarding loop recording, you can set loop recording to Off/1 minute/3 minutes/5 minutes on the menu page. When you set the loop recording to off/1min/3min/5min, when the card is full, the dash cam will automatically overwrite the old video, thus freeing up space to store the new video. If you set loop recording to off, the dash cam will NOT automatically overwrite the video when the card is full. So we do not recommend setting the recording to off. It should be noted that the locked video will not be automatically overwritten by the loop recording. Video recorded by the dash cam in a crash situation is locked. So the dash cam will stop automatically when the card is full of locked videos, and the card needs to be formatted manually at this time. 2.The dash cam will automatically turn on to record when you turn on your car engine. The locked videos won't be deleted automatially by the loop recording function. But if you want to lock a video manually, you can press the lock button. Rather than breaking up the video in 1, 3, and 5 minute chunks, is there a way to set it so that it just records the entirety of a single point-A to point-B trip? For instance, could I set it up so that a single video file has my 13min drive to the store. And the next video file has my 13min drive home from the store. If yes, like all other dash cams on the market, this dash cam has two parking modes: 1)Internal Battery Parking Mode (No additional accessories needed, parking guard function just needs to be turned on) During parking, the camera will automatically turn on, record locked videos when it detects collisions or vibrations and save the videos as evidence. This parking mode works from the camera's internal battery. The camera's internal battery is designed to last about 5 minutes when fully charged. For a dash cam, a large battery is not safe for use in hot weather. 2)24-Hour Parking Mode (A Mini USB hardwire kit required) With the hardwire kit, the dash cam will automatically turn on to record locked videos and save them as evidence when it detects any collisions or vibrations. So I said "1 2 3" and then pressed the lock button, then I said "4 5 6" and then I pressed the lock button again and said "7 8 9" and I went to look back at the footage to what exactly it saves and none of those numbers saved, the video didn't save. So do you press the lock button to safe the footage and then the "OK" button? I guess we'll figure out the specifics lol

Regarding the question you mentioned, this dash cam is not a wifi dash cam, therefore it doesn't need to connect to an app. If you want to watch the video on your phone, you can do it by using a Card Reader to connect your phone and SD card. And for how to watch video on computer, you can connect the dash cam to the computer with the original USB cable that came with the camera and selecting the "Mass Storage" mode. If yes, the dash cam has a screen saver function. After the set time has elapsed, the dash cam screen will turn black. But the blue light flashing means it's recording. If you want the dash cam screen to stay on, you can turn off the screen saver in the dash cam menu. Also, below is also way to test whether the dash cam can lock the video when hit happens: 1. Turn on the dash cam and ensure the g-sensor of the dash cam is on. 2. Let the dash cam starts to record. 3. Hit the dash cam by hand and see whether current will be locked. The videos recorded by the dash cam can be viewed or transferred for backup by connecting to the computer with the original USB cable and selecting the "Mass Storage" mode. In addition, the screen of the dash cam is a 3-inch LCD screen, which means that you can playback video directly on the dash cam.
