I had Ozone 10 and did upgrade to 11 Advanced. You showed the ReBalance module, and adjusted the vocals. However, you did not comment if you could adjust each of the other sections, i.e. the drums and bass, also within that module. I'm asking because I was NOT able to do that in Version 10, and could only do one of the three. I DO also agree with the person who complained about the Upgrade prices. Right now, there's another Upgrade within RX 11, and it's $99, and to me, NOT worth it for the upgrade. Plus it seems that the RX11 upgrade deals more with Dialogue and I don't even do any of that, I do all music.

But recently, after about two years or so, I've reverted back to Ozone 11 and practically found the difference- it's substantial. I'd buy it if their upgrade paths on both single products and suites wheren't so crazy expensive for what little new there actually is. I really don't like the way they've integrated (or rather NOT integrated) with NI after the purchase either. There is literally zero value in owning products from both companies when it comes to upgrades. This should be a €50 upgrade at most, instead it's €164 (or €219 once the intro "sale" is over). MPS6 upgrade is €253 (€329 after "sale"). I feel like I'm just being hit in the head with a hammer every time I try to talk to them about their "loyalty offers" to. If they ever manage to merge their stuff with NI/PA like they should, so I can get offers based on the products I actually own from all these companies, I'll consider buying again. Won't hold my breath though, as my experience with NI is just as bad. I tried asking if I couldn't get a discount on Komplete upgrade since I already own every iZotope product in there, but no...
@RudalPL Жыл бұрын
I have the same exact feelings about both iZotope and NI. I once bought some orchestral library from Spitfire Audio and after a while decided to buy some more stuff from them. They not only lowered the price of what I wanted to buy because I owned some parts of the bundle already, but applied a seasonal sale discount that was up at the time. I ended up paying way less for what I wanted and bought an extra thing on top for the "rest" of the money I had left. With iZotope and NI it's always no. And even the loyalty offers looks like you have to pay extra on top for what you own already.

Not sure if you get my point here, but Mastering is a different mind set than mixing. Yes my goal is to make the mix sound the best in relation to all the tracks together, and mastering is to polish, and finalize the 2 track master before you release the music. In mastering, we're talking about small moves, so I will recall the mix only if I need to make big moves to improve the master, or else, I just do my mastering job I'm paid for. If I start going back in forth from the master to mix sessions for small moves, the mastering will be a never ending story :)

@@nicok5630 I think you're going to be surprised. Sure, for the highest end stuff that actually has a snowball's chance in hell of making any money at all in an era when 100,000+ songs are being uploaded to Spotify every day might warrant some extra, professional love. 99% of artists can get great results with Ozone. And interestingly, MATCHING content to the sonics of a specific genre is EXACTLY what AI based mastering like Ozone is good at. I think there are some mastering engineers out there who are overestimating their "magic." ;) Another important thing to remember is that "mastering" is no longer written in stone as it was in the days of vinyl, CDs and cassettes. If a track you've got on streaming is showing promise, you can always remaster it differently and upload a fresh file.

Clarity does clarity in a clinical way so this is a bad thing right from the start. It also destroyes tightness of the mix and the "far away", "mystic" element of the mix. I could go on and on. It's a good feature for beginners to see what boring high end sounds like. :) Stem Focus is a nice feature, saves a lot of time if you made a mistake in the mix and the rest is O.K. too. So I would give it a score 8.9 from 0 - 10. Ozone is great tool for "the next stop" before going into the real mastering app's ... It's a no go for to use as a "main" mastering "engine". It's too soft, lack character, too loose etc. Use it as a fine tunning element before going into "something stronger". I use ... When I retire I'll write a book, haha.
