Chat GPT Changes Everything. It's like developers have power tools for the first time. Game development will never be the same. You could have an infinite conversation with any NPC in a game, or have a Jarvis level secretary for free.

I believe that this tech is as important as the invention of computer and internet. Regarding more specific game dev use. I'm not much of a coder, so I use visual scripting plugin called Playmaker to write my games. The issue with playmaker is that you can't write editor tools for Unity with it. So I've used ChatGPT to write more than 10 tools that I need for Unity. I've dreamed about some of those tools for years. And ChatGPT managed to write tools that some developers told me and others are impossible to write. In fact I've finished writing new tool just a minute ago. ChatGPT can also write actions for Playmaker. I also use it for game design. It serves as good idea generator. Just as you, I thought that I might get left behind if I don't try to use it and I was right.

Reading and manipulating it's code snippets will, overtime teach you programming in general, as you start to see patterns

I thought of it similarly in the sense that it's a tool. Like why use a handsaw and a hammer and nails when you have a skilsaw and a nail gun. It's going to become a standard thing if it hasn't already.

Hey man, thank you for that video, Im not all through yet, because I got interrupted by a small mobil games commercial, where you have to level up to achive your goal of getting a hot cartoonwoman laid. But your totally right. I don't know if you heard about that book called Erebos, maybe thats just avaiable in German language, but when you talked about unlimited conversations with NPCs which end up in the point of meaning of life... Thats what someone wrote into that book, I read as a child and I remember now again.
