I would be behind Cole if he didn't have years of verbal jabs at Kendrick. It was those jabs that Kendrick responded to along with the song with Drake where Cole took shots at kendrick. Cole needed to address those verbal jabs. Rap battle is a competition like boxing. You can't call out the top guy or 2nd guy then when they respond Say I don't want to fight.

It’s not even about that. It’s bigger than rap, beef, and etc. He spoke on it at the concert. For me I liked it because it showed self awareness, maturity and accountability. Also this is a beautiful lesson to utilize to teach all of us as people and most importantly to the kids, the future. It’s shows us/them you don’t always have to fight, or succumb to peer pressure, and you can handle things a different way, that will leave you in a better place mentally and more. That’s what’s wrong with us now as a people, we always want to respond to something, clap back, etc. If we start doing more of the opposite naturally you can assume things will get better

False. The problem with rap culture not black culture is that Cole has contradicted himself by rapping about things that paint him as ready for war. So once he got into a position to show who was the better lyricist(not bigger gangsta) he folded. You can make diss songs and they can still be respectful as long as you keep it about rap. The fact that he went the disrespectful route 1st rather than just showing his creativity is what ate at him. So I can respect that he wasnt okay with the way he did it.

The problem here is if Cole's response was as well received as Kendrick's verse, does anybody think he'd apologize? Nobody thought this beef was going anywhere past the mic. So, this idea of blood shed or, anything close to that is over dramatic. Neither verse was so hard hitting that it compromises either integrity or credibility anyway. But, this apologize magnified the diss. Now Cole lacks any credibility when says what he'll do to a (fill in the blank) ever again on the mic.
