the funny thing is- J.Cole almost got away with it, if it wasnt for that darn.. J.Cole! 😂😂😂 he srsly pulled the weakest move you can make as a top rapper, and yet seeing the smoking skid on the road that was Drake after Kung Fu Kenny was done with him, Cole came out looking like such a winner. "The internet owes Cole an apology" "J. Cole is the real winner of the battle" "Cole is a genius" "Cole made the best business decision of his career" he got away with it! and then, bam! he just had to drop this love letter to Drake, probably because he aint answering the phone no more. attempting to moral grandstand over the 2 rappers who actually had guts and battled, trying to strip competition from rap as if its not foundational to hip hop, sneakily accusing Dot and Drake of battling for clicks, clout and money, and trying to gaslight the people that je didnt shoot when he was the first one with a direct diss song with 7MD and now even Dreamville is being exposed as being secret haters the whole time. Cole got away with it, but he just cant help himself. he needs to overexplain and assert his moral superiority as if he has any moral high ground to stand on when technically he instigated the whole thing

True. Cole had found a way to pull a Jedi mind trick and come out of all of this relatively unscathed. Then he messed that up by releasing Port Antonio. And why? Because he wanted to avoid a potential battle with Drake. If he didn’t wanna battle he could’ve simply ignored Drake if he came at him like that.

You can't have a history of backtracking and gaslighting your whole life and then try to reassure/convince us that you are holier than thou, morally superior and above the fray to battle when you were the first person to diss Kendrick. We do remember the Wale, Noname, Kanye, Lil Pump, 7min drill rants. Cole did the same thing he is doing now, jumped out the window, returned after the public disdain blaming the fans, public and his friends. I remember when he was telling lil pump he was intelligent gassing him up that rubbed me the wrong way because you could tell he was only doing it so the new age fans would accept him. People forget there was a period of time where Cole was considered boring by modern rap fans so he tapped into that audience to remove that label from his name. I can't give Cole no out this is the weakest move in hip hop history, him trying to revise history as if he was above the drama when he participated is insane!! Good point also about the history of battle in the genre as well, the culture always been about competition from dance, graffiti, dj'ing and etc.

When I view J. Cole is a rapper I never seen him as a battle rapper. He’s more of an artist than anything. Also, I think what J. Cole‘s biggest problem is when it comes to battle wrapping it he wants to have it both ways. He wants to take shots, but he never wants to face the backlash from it. No I do agree. A lot of his acadence and flow is very similar to a lot of traditional battle rappers, especially from the 2000s. However, I don’t feel that means you are a battle rapper just because of that or have the heart of a battle rapper. Also, for anyone needing clarification of that this battle showed that J. Cole is not really a battle rapper. When it comes to the new song, it’s lyrically good I don’t know. I’ll replay it again and again. When it comes to Kendrick if he is taken shots for J. Cole, he may as well just let that go you already loss when you went on stage and did what you did two days after putting out the diss song. I also think that he done what he did on stage back in the 90s in 2000 his career would’ve been over you look at Tupac you look at 50 Cent you look at Jadakiss you look at Nace or any other rapper who was in a battle back then had they apologized they would’ve apologize their career would’ve been over. I also think J. Cole fans are far too forgiving, and also way too defensive on this whole battle. No this doesn’t mean J. Cole cant be lyrical and can’t have good songs after that. None of that will change. It’s just when it comes to J. Cole being seen as the greatest MC or a battle rapper. He’s lost all credibility to that title. As for J. Cole being the biggest loser of 2024 I kinda have to agree with this video. A lot of people will say Drake because he had such a great downfall and that’s what everybody was more focused on and a lot of J. Cole fans will say that cole made the best move. Still I think J. Cole is the biggest loser because even Drake knows not to apologize to Kendrick publicly or in the heat of the battle even if he was forced in the situation he knew not to take that same route and still put out at this song even though he was on the sinking ship. The other reason I say J. Cole is the biggest loser is because you don’t put out a rap diss song and in the heat of the battle go on stage, talking with remorse and regretted putting out the song and then come back with this song, trying to defend yourself months later, making it seem like you could’ve won the battle when you clearly showed why you loss. Also, just because you said the battles over, doesn’t mean it’s really over whatever everyone else that first Kendrick might feel a certain way now because you put out a song as well as you gave Kendrick more leverage in the battle

He should've just battled and be done with it. His ego is toooooooooo big, but he's trying to hide it. Nothing is wrong with a big ego in hip hop, it's part of the culture, and it comes with being a rapper. He should embrace it instead if trying to be something he's not. It's coming off as fake.

I'm not the biggest Cole fan. Didn't have the history of his discography and his tough posturing. But I still understand Cole bowing out of this beef. Dot wasn't here for a friendly competitive showcase. He knew Drake was going to push too far and that he would be burying someone. Cole wasn't here for that. Only mistake I see in this beef from Cole was dropping 7 minute drill.

I thought the onstage apology and bow out was dope - but then months later, after his n---" Drake takes a huuuuge L, Cole comes out and tries to rewrite the history with claims that both Kdot & Drake were doing it for the $ & the clicks? BS, Kendrick is here to try & clean up the culture- and Drake was a problem that needed solving - Cole ignores that aspect - AND Cole ignored all of the suss behavior of his homie Drake. Saying that K & D are the same isn't recognizing that even if the worst stuff isn't true ("A-miiiiinor!"), he's very publicly groomed undeage women, he promotes gambling, he steals from cultures (esp accents) that aren't his, he sleeps with or publicly thirsts after other men's girlfriends or wives - so Cole rappin like Dot & Drake are the same is bull. Or is Cole cool with all that ish?

I personally don’t think j cole is a bad person. But he’s super lost and needs to find himself. He loves competition but doesn’t want to hurt people or ever lose. Using gun bars but is supposed to be peaceful, woman bars but loyal lol. And plus he’s old. Which doesn’t work with the gun bars and player bars ESPECIALLY with the peace bars. He just needs to find himself. He knew what he was doing when he was younger imo, 2008-2014 cole was the best and it’s been downhill from there imo. I still like his newer stuff too but he’s just not as sure of himself.

Let’s say you and a good friend you’ve had for over 10 years get into an argument. Some words are exchanged that yall didn’t actually mean and even a fight breaks out. I think the right thing to do is squash the beef. And that’s what J Cole did. Is it disappointing that we ain’t get to see him participate in the battle, yes. But I understand that he didn’t wanna lose a good friend. Let’s remember that these people are Human Beings 1st before rappers. Drake n Kendrick steady had beef since 2012 so that was bound to happen. And yall have seen how far that beef went to where I doubt they’ll ever speak again. Also if they see each other, it’s on sight. I believe Cole forsaw this and didn’t want that for him and K. And considering how deep their pens go, neither once of their careers would’ve been the same.
@JK-wp4nl3 ай бұрын
None of that explains this song he dropped. LOL. And Kendrick isn't dealing with him after his anyway, so he didn't actually avoid anything. I don't really think Drake will be messing with him either. Drake is good for telling people everything is cool and.not really meaning it.
@kimzziereenee16383 ай бұрын
@@JK-wp4nlLet me help you-During the so-called apology, Cole never actually said “I’m sorry” but he knew what he was doing wasn’t gonna be received well. So he asked forgiveness FROM HIS FANS. As you know he had a lot of fans who just couldn’t get over how he left the beef, but in hindsight, most of them have returned to his fan base. Regardless, the FANS have been asking for some kind of deeper explanation either in an interview or on wax. And Cole delivered this lyrical masterpiece to us. It ain’t for you if you ain’t a fan. And that’s ok.
