The song is most likely from the perspective of J.Cole cause he did the same with his current wife back when he first started popping off, but to tie it to the video. The song can be viewed as the father's POV. The Video follows the kid POV, and we see the mom cheat. Which in the lyrics it says "I guess she can be doing the same thing, I suppose" so both dad and mom were most likely cheating on each other. So at the end the Dad 100% knows deep down, and she knows deep down, and kid has to deal with this broken home.
