Souvenir does not seem to be about The Weeknd. People have analyzed the song in which she sings about a short lived romance she had AFTER her break up with Justin Bieder which came after The Weeknd. Nobody knows who this mystery lover was but she gives hints in the song about him having Blue Eyes which Abel does not have. And fans interpret the line ''Opened up that Bordeaux from 1993'' as a hint towards the year said lover was born in. As far as i know fans have speculated that the song is about Niall Horan or her ex Samuel Krost. both of them have blue eyes, were born in 1993 and have spend time in the same places Selena has spent since she broke up with Justin. So even though you made a compelling theory the song doesn't seem to be about Abel.

@@CarlosHuiskens no it's about abel in the lyrics of souvenir she said "swimming in your eyes egyption blue somethig i never had without you". egyption blue is rare and expensive mineral in ancient egypt so what she meant is that he is super important and her experience with him was rare and having value. plus logically speaking she never loved anyone besides justin all her relationships was just a rebound and to make justin jealous , i think abel is the most serious one especially he was there for here when she had lupus and was an emotinal support during that difficult time.
