For anime fans, You can clearly hear the influence J Dilla left on Nujabes in this tape. Nujabes would produce his album just 7 years later and his sampling and tempos from Samurai Champloo match the entire vibe of this album. You could have told me Nujabes produced this and put Samurai Champloo on the cover and it would have fit. Two legends both now gone but with music that will live forever.

I Salute all of you in the comments, I started following Jay Dee back in the 1999/2000; I was 19 at time. And I remember okay player message board and Renaissance Soul website was where I discovered new Dilla music, at the time he dropped stuff every other week. It was truly a fun time in my life.
