Wow, I’m amazed at how much you can write without having to dip your pen again! Maybe my speedball nibs aren’t good with this ink, or I’m not dipping correctly...
@TheWaterMarbler4 жыл бұрын
Did you prep your nib? Most nibs come with a coating of oil on them that must be removed or the ink won't stick to them.

I got this and I was so hyped for it. But sadly it needs the proper moon proper paper and Really REALLY unrealistically wet ink to show the effect Tho mine felt a bit different. More thin? I wonder I'd there was a problem with mine since it was a sample. I barely get shining even with a 1.5 stub
@saesooncalligraphy89062 жыл бұрын
Why don't you change the paper or size of nip? Use paper or tomoeriver paper in the video, or use nibs that are over 3mm.
@ameliabuns40582 жыл бұрын
@@saesooncalligraphy8906 I don't realistically use those nibs for my writing. HOWEVER I got my first twsbi eco in broad. And this pen looks like it'd make this ink glow absolutely gorgeous with how wet it is! And broad! My bigger issue with the ink is Honestly how it smudges even after being dry!

Hi, why there are two cuts and then looks you put something more on the ink which makes it sparkle when dry?
@MrSwaggernaut834 жыл бұрын
The cuts I believe are just the time for the ink to dry. When it dries it takes on a more sparkly finish and also some of the red comes through depending on the paper.

Thanks for this video! Can you also use this ink with the Pilot Parallel Pen?
@saesooncalligraphy89064 жыл бұрын
Since this ink has pearls, it is difficult to achieve an effect with a fountain pen such as a pilot parallel pen. It is much more effective to write ink on the nib.

What paper are u using? I just received this ink, and I am using it on Rhodia and other thicker papers, and there is absolutely no color variation like you got here. No red/pink... only green and dark green with the gold sheen.

I can't for the life of me get the red to come out :( Great video!
@saesooncalligraphy89064 жыл бұрын
well....Maybe it's because of the paper. Try Fabriano watercolor paper or canson watercolor paper or Tomoe River paper. I used canson watercolor paper for this video, but if you want to see a great effect, I recommend Tomoe River Paper.
@MrSwaggernaut834 жыл бұрын
@@saesooncalligraphy8906 yea I looked into nicer paper when I saw you were using watercolor paper but it's just too expensive for me considering I wouldn't be making art especially not without some messing around. Do you have any recommendations of bulk watercolor or otherwise paper that is decent quality to get started?
@morgenmachen24004 жыл бұрын
@@MrSwaggernaut83 I hope I'm not interrupting but I thought I might be able to help since I'm a watercolor hobbyist and I'm always price comparing 100% cotton comp watercolor paper on different sites. What I would consider probably entry level cotton comp is Bee watercolor paper www.amazon.com/Bee-Paper-Watercolor-6-Inch-1153P50-609/dp/B0044SAXKQ. The sheets are 5"X7" but you're paying about 50¢ per so that's quite reasonable. I found another site recently with free shipping if you meet a minimum ( not sure what the minimum was, I'm sure I exceeded it easily) and they had a good stock of mid level cotton comp at huge discount..merriartist.com/. But I will say that if your focus is calligraphy and you're not interested in making the investment, then Tomoe River or Clairefontaine are great suggestions. I'm not independently wealthy by any stretch but the way I see it, I splurged on the ink because it's so beautiful and luxurious, so I prefer to see it perform at maximum potential. If feels almost like a waste of the ink, otherwise. I hope you find some good advice !

@@MrSwaggernaut83 Hmm... Marker paper is cheaper than watercolor paper, so it is often used for beginners, but I haven't tested whether the effect similar to the video appears when written on marker paper.

If you have the same ink, it's probably a big difference in paper. If you use the paper used in the video or the tomoeriver paper, the sheen will appear well.

The keys: shake bottle well. Use high quality, fountain pen friendly paper, use wide nib to lay down widest line possible.

Hey ! if I use it in my Lamy Safari F and Twsbi Eco M, will it work ? And having used the same pen for say 1 month , can I completely clean it, so that nothing is left in there
@doodletime90415 жыл бұрын
With the right paper it should work, but not as extreme as in this video. If you want to see a lot of shading/sheen/shimmering, you have to use broader nibs :)

@anjapinkau37374 жыл бұрын
Probably the paper is too spongy? Try smoother, more ink-resistant paper. The ink will take longer to dry, but for the colour change you need the ink to stay ON the paper and not be soaked up by the paper. (And don't forget zu shake the bottle gently before using the ink.)
