Jhope is from BTS..he is one of the rappers in BTS. Along time ago before JHOPE join bts...he did street dancing...when he did street dancing it was mainly jcole he listen too..also jcole inspired jhope to write his own songs...also jhope is a stage name(jhope real name is jung hoseok) and he named himself jhope and he name himself after "jcole"..also jhope has mixtape called "hope world " and he named that after "cole world". jhope meet jcole in lollapooloza in chicago and jhope told jcole "he is muse". In a song called Hip hop lover from bts jhope mention "jcole is one of his models/muse" .Thanks for giving jhope a chance and keeping an open mind..you guys seem very nice.

Thanks for your reaction A little background on the song because as with most of the songs from BTS (the seven member group jhope is part of) it's deeper than it first appears on surface level. this song is a love letter to army( his fans) it's a farewell for now. Jhope is going away but he will be back see in Korea all men have to go to the military for 18 to 24 months. its a very strict law! Also BTS started off hip hop group now they do everything JCole is one of J hopes inspirations personally I have a theory about why jhope let rap a lot more of his song than he did.- Korean Idols don't have as much freedom as Western artists do. Korea is very conservative. I think that jhope believe everything that JCole is saying he wanted to let us know that he believes God will protect him in the military but he had to do it in a way that wouldn't piss off the Korean government but thats just my personal theory

@@linseyvega2397 I'm genuinely curious.... Why do you believe that j-hope (if he wanted to) doesn't have the freedom to say that he believes God will protect him in the military? They've released several songs that are much more critical of the South Korean government than that statement. For example, Baepsae, Am I Wrong, No More Dream, and N.O are all more politically (and/or socially) motivated, and more critical of the South Korean government than j-hope saying he believes God will protect him. Even Spring Day is more unflattering for the SK government than j-hope acknowledging God's protection for the military would be. (I do agree that there are idols/idol groups - particularly from certain companies- that are censored, or not even permitted to write ANY of their own lyrics. But I haven't seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe that BTS are being censored. Not by their company, the government, or themselves. So, I'm very curious as to why you feel j-hope doesn't have the freedom to lyrically express his true feelings? Because they (BTS/j-hope) have done that very thing on multiple occasions while showing us that they're unafraid to speak uncomfortable truths. So why do you feel like j-hope couldn't say whatever he wanted to?

@@alis6259 I totally see your point and you're right they have always pushed the boundaries, however religion is a hot-button topic and a particular topic that Bts has largely avoids with exception their little hints. I'm sure you know that our boys are very very intelligent. they seem to think three steps ahead. jhope is very open with how he is feeling but my theory is that he might be aware that causing a controversy like the one religion often causes wouldn't be the smartest thing to do soon before he goes away to the military and and I think he respects J Cole and trusts him to deliver the message that they both agree on I'm not saying hobi is afraid to say anything but even just jackson wang from Got7 said bts are all great strategists. That is my thinking anyway. Thanks for your question and curiosity also your valid points borahae!💜💜

Hobi’s verse in #on_the_street is deeper than many people think. First, you have to know that the child in the mv is hobi. the kid is wearing Air Jordan 11s. Theyre the same pair Hobi owns now. Air Jordans are also known as J’s so “J in the Air” is a play on the shoes. Air Jordan’s (J’s) are significant bc j.cole mentions the shoes in his song “higher.” Meeting j.cole at lolla, hobi mentioned to him that he loves his mixtape Friday Night Lights, especially Higher & Hobi found a genius way to add it into the lyrics and MV. The child is wearing almost the same outfit as j.cole wears in the MV. This represents how much hobi idolized j.cole and found inspiration in him when he was young. At the start, you see j-hope help kid-hobi put his earphones on, pat his head, shake his hand, and wave to him as they both set off walking down their paths. It’s almost feels like he was comforting and assuring his younger self. Hobi’s verse starts “My two feet walk willingly, anywhere. J in the air” Hobi sets off on a life path that leads him to his destination “j in the air”, represented at the end by him and jcole on the roof. This is where “J in the air” takes on another meaning. He’s playing with the fact that they’re both J’s and they’re “in the air” now. He gave us a hint at his lolla performance “you can call me J” (also, “j in the air” is also a reference to his song Airplane which is about j-hope finding his success after so many hard trials.) “For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all. Even my walk was made of Your love and your faith.” He’s talking about how he worked so hard and made many sacrifices to make sure that the path he willingly chose to follow, became successful. he tells us that it’s bc of our love and faith that all his hard work came to fruition and is what made this path possible. “To repay you even from afar, just like a butterfly” He references BTS’s song Butterfly in this line. His verse:“like a wind that gently strokes me, like a dust that gently drifts along, Youre there but for some reason, I cant reach you” bc hes leaving for a while, he wishes to give this song as his message for us to always have & to comfort us while hes unable to be with us. “Now, just walk lightly, whenever you want Go on hopefully, wherever you walk In these streets imbued with someones breath I leave my soul and my eternity Everywhere (I’ll be)” No matter what path we chose, he wants to always be with us to be our piece of peace. “Every time I walk, Every time I run Every time I move, As always, for us Every time I look, Every time I love Every time I hope, As always, for us” He goes through the mv walking on his path. It shows him as a kid that was inspired by j.cole to him working hard throughout his youth practicing his love of street dance, to eventually climbing up from the bottom to finally reach his destination at the top where he meets and shakes the hand of the man who inspired him from the start.

A high vibrational song! What a great thing to say. I love that you were able to connect with the song like that without knowing j-hope (who is DEFINITELY a high vibrational person) Art gets to be art for everyone and there’s no one way it’s supposed to make people feel. As you’ve probably already seen in the comments, us fans of j-hope (and his group, BTS) are passionate and sincere in our love for him. And he is just as passionate in his love for us. In some ways this was a love song, just not a romantic one. This song is j-hope’s farewell-for-now song before he leaves to serve his mandatory enlistment in the South Korean military. If you’re wondering about why they paired up for this collab, it starts with dance. J-hope started dancing at 10 and was part of a street dance team by middle school. He lived and breathed dance. It was actually dance that led him to music, not the other way around as it is for most people. And it was J. Cole who inspired him to write his own music. In this video, while J. Cole was on the roof rapping, j-hope was underground singing along in his first language, dance, just as he had done as a teen. The whole second half of the song was, in some ways, a duet. His dance life started on the streets and his music life started with J. Cole. This song was j-hope going back to those roots and telling us, “For the path I’m on to become to become one of hope, I gave my all. Even my walk was made of your love and your faith.” He put absolutely everything he had into becoming someone who could give us hope and encouragement through his dance and his music, and in return we gave him our love and faith, which was energy to help keep him striving and pushing himself. (And this man PUSHES himself. I’ve never seen a human with a stronger work ethic than j-hope.) Thanks for listening to our boy with open minds and open hearts. An awful lot of people don’t.

yooooo i love this reaction! i'm so proud our j-hope for getting this collab of his dreams. he was always first and foremost a street dancer but he's got producing and rapping skills. so versatile this boy! but this is our goodbye for a minute song bc he's going in to do his mandatory military service in south korea. check out his rap in the bts song "hip hop lover" with a lyric video for translations - i think you'd love the way they give props to their muses. j-hope's solo stuff is all so unique too! check out More and Arson and Baseline as tracks if you want to see more of what he does. thank you for this reaction you're both beautiful!

Thank you for the high vibe review! So wonderful to see respectful reviewers. Fun fact, J-Cole is J-Hope's idol and grew up dancing to his music. We see this reflected in the MV. Also he has a mix tape entitled Hope World as another homage.

kinda wild that j-hope is literally switching these two languages each line and it still rhymes. 🤘 j-hope is the main/lead dancer, singer, rapper and music producer from the group BTS. Him as a well known street dancer, way before being a BTS member, he grew up dancing to j.cole's music. They met finally at Lollapalooza Chicago where they were both performers of the said event Check out his song called "ARSON" 🤘 thank you for appreciating music in different languages. Thank you for reacting to Jhope! He is an incredibly talented rapper. In fact, BTS has three of the best rappers in the current time. No exaggeration. This is JHope’s going away song as he is enlisting in the army very soon. He wanted to perform with his biggest influence, J Cole.
