A lot of Michigans secondary D players talked about how JJ would spend a lot of time in the film room with McDonald and Minter breaking down defensive schemes and coaching him how to read formations (especially the Ravens pro system they ran) which is why at Michigan he was doing a lot of pre-snap adjustments, motioning TEs and backs while under center which set up for a lot of success with play-action.

He radiates confidence, not arrogance. He says with no hesitation that he's in NFL shape, and I believe him, he was just in the big game against Washington not too long ago and he's been getting ready for this moment, probably to him the biggest moment of his life. I have no reason to be skeptical of that statement. I'm stoked.

Most lovable QB in the draft by a good margin. I love him. He has a great attitude and a great work ethic. He is a natural leader and I believe he will be wildly successful if brought along slowly and properly coached! He gives a great interview, which will make everyone love him eventually. If NFL teams were smart, they would coach their players to give great interviews, which would lead to fan increase and loyalty.

I like his attitude and confidence. Seems very sharp. He's already a proven winner at the highest levels in NCAA... This kids going to be around for a long time in my opinion in the league. Hope K.O.C. teaches him well & he’s expected to start game 1. I think that will say a lot about how smart he is picking up the offense & pro game! He hasn’t been asked to do too much in college but I expect K.O.C. keeping it simple & B. Flo to keep games close & allow playmakers to help him adjust to more & more each week! He was asked to do a ton in college. Harbaugh's offense from SF (and now LAC). Called plays in the huddle, made adjustments at the LOS, took snaps under center, ran play action from under center. A lot of NFL concepts and skills that most college QBs simply do not do. He also played against a defense loaded with NFL talent in practice every single day. McCarthy is about as prepared as you can get transitioning to the NFL from college. Up to him to progress and shine but his leadership, drive to be the best, and intellect are very promising. SKOL
