It’s a curiosity to see Krishnamurti and Narayan together in dialogue like this because Narayan is biologically related to Krishnamurti in that he is the son of one of Krishnamurti’s brothers. But K doesn’t give him any special treatment - he has to stand in his own light.

does anybody here think it is possible, for language, as we understand it presently, to mature into "pure communication"? That is; everything peripheral to pure, direct, genuine communication, getting pushed out of the process of our maturation as a species, as a consequence of eventuality?

No past does not = no identity unless you think that personality (the past) is your identity. Answer to the question is simple, if there is no past, what you have left is INTENTION (which is our true identity), which means there is still movement.

Could it be that the state of meditation come from seriousness about living? When I am all about living and all about letting others live, is it that compassion involved? ... could this be the state out from order ...? Contemplating about life ... is it meditation? Does contemplating about life without "feeling" or judgement or ... is it the state of looking into what is ... and lead into the state of meditation ...? Would it help me forget about myself?

We need words and language to describe states of mind. However, all states are chemical in nature. As human we can only capture the aftermath of the chemistry then try to ascribe it words according to the background. Maybe he realized he is stuck in this loop. As he speaks Cancer cell are taking over him. Not a chance he can experience the chemistry of cancer only the aftermath. Who knows what type of chemical experiences his body is going through that he can't be aware of. I believe he had and insight and this had the possibility of changing humanity. The problem is that his words alone("word is not the thing") couldn't bring about the chemical change to everyone that listen to him. He does hope that eventually if you keep listing something will happen "now" That will bring about a mutation. He lived in hope and died in hope. Amazing Human.

Who is the other guy then?
@grahaminglis42425 ай бұрын
The other guy’s name is Narayan, he is related to Krishnamurti in that he’s the son of Krishnamurti’s brother. Narayan was in charge of one of the Krishnamurti schools in India. In dialogues with Buddhist scholars, Narayan sided with the Buddhists against Krishnamurti to some extent. Very similar yet different to Krishnamurti in essence. Interesting,though!
@j-cub71073 жыл бұрын
20:50 they speak of the impossibility of giving up the past, and of the strange idea that the future is able to be molded. I believe the past isn’t able to be given up, that much is true, but the present is able to be given up, and that is the whole idea of sacrifice. The past is irretrievable, and the future unknowable, but the present is ours to use and direct, “give up” so to speak, in order to achieve a perceived greater future for ourselves and for us as a whole. It seems the present is the realest among the trinity of time, which is where we occupy ourselves. Perhaps the concepts of the personal God and devil comprise the past and the future. God being the future, what to aim for, what to pursue and seek to please for our advancement and understanding, and the devil the past, like in dealing with trauma and what to look out for to prepare for the future. It’s in the past that traumatic events linger, as well as those blissful memories that, while tempting to remain in a prolonged state of nostalgia for what was, keeps you from pursuing the future, i.e. God. Perhaps I’m wrong, but it seems an interesting concept to me.

To encourage you to doubt what you consider yourself. Observe and finally understand. Things cannot be changed from the outside but from the inside. Thus, nobody can do anything for you. Do it yourself. So, explore yourself, literally question what’s going on in there.
