J. Krishnamurti - Ojai 1984 - Public Talk 2 - What is wrong with pleasure?
Summary:
What is order?
Learning implies a constant movement, observation without a motive.
Why have I sought pleasure all my life? What is wrong with pleasure?
Can fear ever end or must it be the burden of humanity everlastingly?
Is your brain passionate enough to find out?
What is going to happen to the brain when the computer can do almost everything?
How can I stop the movement of time and thought? Is that the right question?
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

It is not about what is said or what is not said this is the fact of the speaker. These are just thoughts and beliefs of the content of the brain which makes up the human mind. What is beyond the known content is what the speaker is pointing at. What takes places beyond this mind? Who is “me” what is this content and what goes beyond this content. Find that,

These talks are so precious! Can’t thank the foundation enough for preserving them and sharing them with all of us for free! Especially in today’s world of “enlightenment for the wealthy elite” when so called spiritual organizations charge thousands of dollars for so called wisdom that keeps us trapped in the same patterns.

every time you say 'I' there is an identification. you say I understand, but in reality there is understanding which is observed. when you say I understand, you or at least 'I' identify with the understanding, which is the end of the observation of understanding. in that way it hinders the thinking. when you say I understand, there is a small moment where you get confused, which is very subtle. in that moment you get distracted and drawn into the confusion. we got used to it so we can handle it, but it is much more "productive" to think without these stops. now this happens all the time, not just with the use of 'I'. when there is constant and unhindered stream of thought, it is much more beneficial for understanding concepts. now of course this makes you look like an alien to people, if you don't use words like 'I', but that is precisely how far we have accumulated confusion, that language itself adds massively to confusion.

I was always striving in trying to understand the Hindu concept of learning verbal meaning of as might as we call: the atman: that is mistaken to be alive and the opposite of living by its gaitability and the opposite mistaken identification when its movements on the pair of false walking legs appear noticeable as the atman In One-hundred millionth of an atom in the body.

How is anything that is limited static, and that which is static generative of conflict? I wish there was someone in the audience to have stopped and said, no friend, I'm confused.

The non Popularity of this content explains a lot about "Us" the "Society". We have made artificial conclusions which inturn has put our intelligence or simply ability to question to Sleep. I wonder where did he missed to connect with masses.
@helenamaria710

He connected. But few could/can really grasp it. At the center in Chennai, where I stayed a few years back, some of K's basic requirements set by him are respected. No pictures of him on the walls, no bells etc. BUT in the eating hall the members from his schools and other foundations often convene and it is the same old same old as they impress each other with their economic credentials etc. The Indian mindset prevails while they try to intellectually grasp 'the observer is the observed'. If you go out for the day they ask why you didn't tell them 'so they could calculate' how much food to prepare, or if you don't come for dinner, someone will come to ask you to join. You can see how those 'meditation concentration camps' - as K called them - so easily come into being. Cults. The books are there and the youtube videos are wonderful. DON'T THINK is REALLY the key to living - in the way he tries so hard to explain.

Sir, may I ask what is popularity and what is it to connect with the masses? Propaganda and popularity go together. So connecting with the masses is nothing but propaganda. Here we are dealing with a holistic approach to life. In cleansing the consciousness of oneself one is also cleansing the consciousness of the whole of humanity --- if only one has the energy, the passion and the vitality to travel that far with a sustained energy. If one is rather slack or lazy or mediocre the journey ends somewhere in the middle. And again the self, the 'me', the persona in no way find or come upon the fragrance of love. On the contrary it is the ending of 'me' is the most positive to open the doors of heavens. If one travels that far, not verbally or intellectually or as an imaginative illusion --- then one is already connected with the masses, one is the world.

Maybe the killer kills a conflict that he has created and that is incarnated by a person. The killer fails to see that he is the conflict, he us the problem. By killing it and not solving it, he kills himself and an opportunity to understand and set himself free. I guess that at a higher level of awareness, it is obvious.

As long as you are thinking in terms of duality or as long as you can't see that the person you are killing is the same consciousnes that you are; you'll find it illogical and that is what leads to conflicts and further wars.
