The Japanese have such respect for their communities. No litter or rubbish. Clean pavements and roads. I wish my town was like this.

Coming from Chicago (where I've lived most of my life) and having been able to visit Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka (as well as many other places in Europe) the difference is night and day. A city like Tokyo, with a population greater than any other city, was cleaner than anyone could imagine. I remember when I visited London, after visiting Tokyo, and mentioning to a friend how dirty the city was. He tried to say "well you know that's how big cities are..." I couldn't have brought up Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka fast enough. Those cities are remarkably clean and pleasant just to walk around it.

@@vernonsza Osaka is pretty dirty for a Japanese city
@vernonsza3 жыл бұрын
@@Busha69 Maybe that's true FOR A JAPANESE CITY. But I'll take that dirtiness over Paris or London ANY day.
@Busha693 жыл бұрын
@@vernonsza that's why I specified "Japanese". I'm sure it is cleaner than the cities mentioned but you gotta understand that when you live in Japan like I do, every time I go to Osaka, I feel like I walked into a dump anyway.
@DanielJoyce3 жыл бұрын
Not in cities. But illegal dumping is kinda common rurally because trash can cost a lot of money to dispose of.

The respect and love that the Japanese have for their culture is wonderful
@ciganyweaverandherperiwink62933 жыл бұрын
Agree. Very sad to see what's happening in the West with its 'educated' young folk tearing everything to pieces and seeing no value in anything historical or traditional in their own countries. Ironically, they love to leave their multicultural melting pots and go in excitement abroad so they can get misty-eyed over all the countries with unapologetic monocultures. These well-funded holidays around the globe still don't encourage the penny to drop and enlightenment eludes them still.
Wow the quality is so high feels like watching a 3d render of a video game, trippy!

I have been lucky enough to go to Japan twice, after years of financial savings and personal problems, and i remember every landscape and street i have been on, Kyoto in particular was wonderful. To be really there its different than to see a video, i can guarantee. It was like walking in a theme park, every street was clean, every garden looked after and every structure kept at its best. I still remember waking up at night in the hotel because the excitement of continuing to explore was greater than the fatigue of air travel, jet lag, etc. At night Kyoto is exactly as you can see in this video, the silence, the lights and the atmosphere are something that i have not found anywhere else and that have genuinely enchanted me. I hope to return someday soon, thanks for these 12 minutes of Kyoto by night.
Congratulations, in particular for the quality of the light represented in the video, exceptional!

I feel blessed to have been able to call this City my home for almost 2 years. I miss this place every day and cant wait to visit again once travel to Japan is possible again. One far flung dream of mine is to move here for retirement. This city is the most amazing place. Not just the known places and touristy areas like the one shown in this video. But the backstreets and the lesser known areas, the outskirts and the surrounding villages, the hidden mountain temples and so much more. That and Osaka is just a 40 min train ride away. While Kyoto has been flooded by tourists the past 5 years. There are many places in Kyoto that are still untouched and will probably remain so as they're simply not well known even amongst locals and Japanese people. I never once believed in any god, but if there is any city that radiates spiritual energy, its this one. 京都よ、また今度!
