LOVE the J-Series focus and dedication! Just picked up a 2006 TL 6MT, have a 2007 TL-S 5AT. WE are out here; J-Series enthusiasts! VERY interested in P2R heads ... and whatever else you guys develop!

@ P2R: THANK YOU for your ongoing and continued R&D on the Honda J-Series engines. I'm personally interested in a pair of your CNC ported cylinder heads, complete with lightweight aluminum rocker arms and mounts, VTEC killer camshafts and a port matched intake manifold completer with runners and all the necessary gaskets and hardware required to complete installation. I intend to install these components on my 6spd. 2003 CL-S. I'm also considering a larger, port matched throttle body, so long as this combination doesn't adversely affect drivability. Currently the engine is stock, having only added an AEM cold air kit. This is a NA build intended for routine street use.

I was just looking at your heads the other day. I'd love to put them on my new J35A3 I'm swapping in. But I'll probably put them on my J32A2 (bent valve & slammed spark plug), that I'll be rebuilding myself. And just as I finished with bolt ons..

Ill be ordering the rocker sleeve. Looking to save weight and rotational mass as much as possible
@AtanasDimitrov954RR3 жыл бұрын
rocker sleeve could not weight that much less than that spring.
@jabinibanez36413 жыл бұрын
@@AtanasDimitrov954RR yes but every little bit counts. Plus its. The spring tentions that it relieves. Thats the biger gain.

Thanks for the video, I have no idea how to build an engine I have an Acura TL 2006 auto with a weak transmission thats holding me back from a build.

So are the vtech killer cams going to be hollow regrinds? Or can i send in my mdx hollow cams? Also how much is it to have my valve seats opened up on my j32a2. I want to go with bigger valves that the stock 36mm.
@PowerRevRacing3 жыл бұрын
When they release they are going to be Billets. Not regrinds. We have 37mm Ferrea valves but besides valve seats, you also need to run our Traum pistons which support the 37mm valves.
@mattcarbaugh55762 жыл бұрын
36mm is better. A larger valve will only be more shrouded by the combustion chamber wall, and actually flow less air and decrease velocity..

why did Honda use a spring instead of a sleeve to begin with? there must be some use for the spring between the rockers, otherwise it would not be there to begin with?
@PowerRevRacing3 жыл бұрын
Thats the cheapest way for honda to keep the rockers separated. Its simple and effective. But when your looking to increase hp on your engine you have to look beyond and do things that are more performance oriented.
@mattcarbaugh55762 жыл бұрын
The spring is actually a damper. To controll the movement of te rocker at high rpm and prevent the roller from smacking the camshaft when the lobe is not engaged. It's a genius innovation from Honda and a bad decision to remove it
@mattcarbaugh55762 жыл бұрын
Manufacturing a spring costs much more than Manufacturing an aluminum tube. To imply that honda added this spring damper because its cheap just exposes your complete lack of understanding and performance engine knowledge, Sean.

Once killer cams get released and do the whole head package ect. Would I need to run AEM or some other aftermarket management?

We already have all of the parts in this video available to sell. Even have a few sets of vtec killer cams in stock. You will want to tune for sure for that specific setup.

There is a lot of different oem combos that can be done. You can make your engine 3.7, you can go high compression, bigger cams, etc.

Couldn't you do a Vtec delete just by welding the pins in lockup on a stock setup? Seems like you would save a lot of parts and a lot of work... at least for a "budget" delete
