the problem with Mrs Weasley's clock is that the first time it is mentioned in Chamber of Secrets, specifically in Chapter 3 thereof, it is described differently: "The clock on the wall opposite him [Harry] had only one hand and no numbers at all. The next time the clock is mentioned, in Chapter 10 of Goblet of Fire, it is described as such: "Mrs Weasley glanced at the grandfather clock in the corner. Harry liked this clock. It was completely useless if you wanted to know the time, but otherwise very informative. It had nine golden hands, and each of them was engraved with one of the Weasley family’s names. There were no numerals around the face, but descriptions of where each family member might be. ‘Home’, ‘school’ and ‘work’ were there, but there was also ‘lost’, ‘hospital’, ‘prison’ and, in the position where the number twelve would be on a normal clock, ‘mortal peril’." From there on, JK Rowling stuck with this 2nd version, making this the more prominent one. It is even possible that there are two clocks, but neither the 1st one is ever mentioned again, nor is the 2nd one mentioned ever before Goblet. Besides, the first one is described as "on the wall opposite him" (i depict a clock hanging on the wall), the second one is "a grandfather clock in the corner", as shown in the quote above. Harry even seems to know the 2nd version by returning to the Burrow in Goblet, and like it. However it is, the question is still ambiguous: Even if there are two clocks, they are both described in the books. I would sneakily answer: "Trick question. The one handed clock was never described in enough detail." - and that would be a valid answer.

The reason why it’s written as “Fred and George” likely has less to do with Fred being more prominent and more to do with the fact that, in English, we tend to put the shorter word first when using conjunctions.
