J3PO in the studio making a beat with Splice, Arturia, and XLN Audio

Thanks to Splice for commissioning this video, I present you a tutorial on how I go about making beats in my studio. This is what could be considered the "A" section of a song. I walk you through my process from the beginning of the creation phase, all the way to the end, with some light mixing and mastering. -drum samples from The Kount
-XLN Audio's XO for drum programming
-Arturia's Minimoog, SEM, and Prophet emulators
-Arturia's upright piano simulator
-XLN Audio's RC-20 for some nice retro color
-Xfer's OTT (free) for some multitband compression and vibe
-FabFilter's Pro L-2 for some final gain and limiting

Maybe I'm too stupid, but: what DAW is he actually using for all of these plugins ? To be honest: I'm not familiar with any other DAW than good old Cubase :-)) Btw: to my opinion ... I think that the snare beat is much over-presented in the mix. I'd like to have more Cuban percussion like congas, timbales or brush HH instead. This would fit better to this jazzy lounge style of music.

hey, i got a question regarding your workflow. you unsynced XO to playback XO Samples via midi clips from live. how would you then proceed to have audio stem files for mixing which represent your current midi in the DAW ? is there another way than realtime recording into single audio tracks via the XO busses?
