I’m also hanging in same decision whether to move USA 🇺🇸 or Canada 🇨🇦. Bu I’m in starting phase of life . A 17 years old whose class 12th will end next year and pursuing Software engineer! . My priorities are money , Safety ( I always fear who will manage my parents in their old age if i will die because I’m single child ) . All the things are checked and USA wins in all but only one and major concern i safety for me which I can’t compromise for above reason !!

One of the best videos Ravish! In the kinds of political atmosphere we are in, to bravely say you want to visit Pakistan and standby it! 👏 growing up in kerala to have experienced Muslim culture as the most peaceful and loving people and having so many pakistani friends abroad and getting brickbats from my so called hindutva (entirely different to hinduism btw) friends, this video is heartening ❤ loved chikoo's expressions while u were explaining ur legacy 😊 the kidnap story was truly terrorisng though and to end with a message like that 🎉 we moved from a similar situation from nz to Australia recently and trust me never regretting it, best way to think is.. worse comes worst, can always go back to our old country anytime n that makes decision making so much simpler! Take the plunge.. ur family is gonna love it 😀

Hi, I watch all of your vlogs but this is my first time commenting. I live in the U.S and have lived here for over 30 years. Life in U.S can be a very different experience depending on which city you move to. For example if you move from Toronto area to Chicago it wouldn’t be that different lifestyle wise. But if you move from Toronto to Los Angeles it would be a completely different experience. If I were in your position I wouldn’t move but just travel more. Regarding safety concerns I completely agree with what you said in the end. Bad things can happen anywhere and we can’t live in fear. Best of luck with your decision.

I totally agree with you. Sharing my personal experience, when I was told about our potential transfer to Canada, my straight answer was no. There are so many horror stories about this land and Singapore being drug free and violence free was my heaven so moving was not even an option. But then a thought dawned upon me, till when am I going to keep my kids in a bubble, only handful countries are that regulated, nearly 90% of the world isn’t so why not take this opportunity and guide kids to deal with it especially when they are still with me. Living here, we keep getting a shocker every now and then, but I know one thing, that all those shockers are a learning point for my teenage boys and me. So I would say go for your move and I truly believe, there has to be a constant change in life as it helps us evolve and learn more.

I am originally Sindhi and come from a border area in Sindh, but currently, I reside in Islamabad due to my job. I am planning to move to Canada in the near future. I wanted to tell you that you should consider visiting Pakistan as it is a truly beautiful country, especially the northern areas and Sindh, particularly Karachi. There are many other places that are also very attractive, such as Kartarpur Sahib and Nankana Sahib (the birthplace of Guru Nanak Ji), as well as Wagah Border. The people of Pakistan are very nice and down to earth, as you have already seen with Ashar Bhai and Sana Bhabhi. If you need any information regarding the process of visiting Pakistan, feel free to ask me. Moreover, when you do visit, I will be there to welcome you! Lots of love from Pakistan.

I'm originally from Pakistan, but now I'm a US citizen. Back in 2009, when I was living in Silicon Valley and managing my offshore team in Noida, India, I had a US passport. It got me thinking, "Why not pay a visit to my team in Noida?" That's when I decided to head over to the Indian consulate in San Francisco one fine morning. So I'm standing in line with all the other folks, waiting to submit my US passport for the visa. There's this interesting white guy collecting everyone's passports, and he's telling everyone to come back in the afternoon to collect them. So, when it was my turn, I handed over my passport to him, and guess what he says? Yep, you guessed it! He tells me the exact same thing, "Sir, come and collect your passport in the afternoon." I thanked him and turned to leave, but then he calls me back, saying, "Excuse me, Sir." Naturally, I turned around and asked him what was up. He informed me, with a touch of disappointment, that since he noticed I was born in Pakistan, my visa wouldn't be processed that afternoon. Turns out, they had to conduct a security check on me, which could take several months!! He assured me that the consulate general would keep me updated during that time. Honestly, I didn't appreciate the treatment and felt like I was being discriminated against. So, I declined his offer and requested my passport back. You know, I was really looking forward to my trip to India, just like you're excited about visiting Pakistan someday (and I genuinely hope you do!). I had all these plans to explore the beautiful places in North India, much like the ones you blogged about during your recent visit. Rajasthan, in particular, caught my eye. However, now I'm not so sure if I'll ever make it to India. It's disheartening to think that such visa policies exist between India and Pakistan. It's a tit-for-tat situation, you see. If an Indian wants a Pakistan visa and visits a Pakistani embassy or consulate, they might face similar treatment. It's like a reciprocal policy between the two countries. Sadly, this is how they maintain their policies. And here's the kicker: I've heard some not-so-pleasant stories about people with US or Canadian passports, but who were born in Pakistan, facing surveillance by intelligence agencies once they set foot in India. It's definitely not a good situation to be in. So, you can understand why I'm not willing to take any risks at this point. Going to India doesn't seem like a practical plan for me anymore. I bet it's the same for folks like you too. Even though you no longer have an Indian passport, if you were to apply for a Pakistani visa and travel to Pakistan, you'd probably encounter a similar situation. It's a sad reality we have to deal with.
