Nothing wrong with the shifter. Don't push the button to shift from drive to third. But to go from there to two, you have to push the button again It is designed that way so you can downshift manually without overshooting.

Well, answer is OK, Oil level increase as temperature increase. Finally, is to get the wright level in the transmission.

When draining the ATF and changing the filter, it is a good time to remove the black plastic transmission fill tube from the bottom by spreading the two plastic ears inward and pressing it up. This should remove the black plastic fill tube & cover plug and enable one to install a VW/Audi 'transmission fill tube, dipstick, and o-ring'; P/N's 098-321-405-C-VAG, 098-321-431F , & N-900-672-02. Available from Pelican Parts - total cost $180. Enables one to easily check the automatic transmission fluid level and fill the transmission from above the engine. Why VW never installed one of these tubes in this vehicle is crazy....

Thanks for the info, think I'm going to do this. I see there are 2 different fill tubes on Pelican Parts, a number that ends with an E and one that ends with an F. Just wanted to confirm with you that the F is the right one because there is very little info and no photos of the parts.

Does anyone know what the actual name is of that “shift lock solenoid” he pointed at and replaced? I think the same part is leaking on my 2003 Eurovan. I’ve done a search of shift lock solenoid and it’s not even close to looking like what he pointed at.

It's not a solenoid at all. It's called the Neutral Safety Switch or the Multi-Function Transmission Range Sensor F125. Part number is 095919823F.

Why is the manual confusing.. in addition to saying u need a trans tool to measure the temp as if there’s no other way to do it..and a vag certified fill tool lol, you literally don’t even need a pump just drop a hose down in form above the drivers side tire.

..Drip tray under thetransaxle. Bring ATF to test temperature of 95-113°F (35-45°C). Remove ATF level plug (A) fromthe oil pan. See Fig. 2 .5. The ATF present in the overflow pipe (2) will run out. If ATF drips out of hole, ATF does not need to be topped off.

Dude, pay attention to when you push the shift button and when you don't need to! D to 3 to 2 - no button! 2 to 1, button! 2 to 3 to D no button... D to N button!

I appreciate you making a video but it really sounds like you are doing a lot of guessing when you are filling the transmission. That makes me nervous. Perhaps you should consider learning what you are doing, and preform the task a few times before making instructional videos. Thank uou
