Are you supposed to be able to hear the ring in the headset when connected to a desk phone away from the desk?

@@HeadsetAdvisor Oh thank you for the help. I work for a hospital and our surgical secretary claims this used to work, but me and my colleague spent an hour today on it and couldn't get it to ring in the headset for when she's away from her desk. We use Mitel 5320e desk phones with a Jabra Engage 65. We have the Jabra lifter with it. - The headset port on the Jabra base is connected to the headset port on the back of the phone. - The handset port on the Jabra base is not used, as the handset is connected directly to the phone. - Then there is an AUX cable going from the Jabra base to the lifter. - Lastly the Jabra base is connected to the PC via USB. There's soo many settings in the Jabra direct software to play with, we're lost! Tried starting from scratch with this video and still nada kzbin.info/www/bejne/jafbipeQe7uNg7s

My daily driver for about 2 years now... Can't complain of anything. You said it ain't good for music - coz your test unit is the mono version, but if you use the Stereo version, it's pretty decent :)

@Jonny that would be nice. There is other comparable models to consider with longer battery life if you don’t need connectivity to a desk phone.

What is the most budget friendly comparable headset to this? I really need something that is super easy to activate the mute button and also something that will help lessen the noise of crying babies and barking dogs lol. Also I use Citrix/Amazon phones for work as a scheduler. Thank you!

Hmmm. So far the best noise cancelling for office but still not as good as trucker headsets. I wish that wasn't the case since I live in a loud city and would really enjoying also going into slightly louder than my home office coffee shops to work.

what would be the Plantronics equivalent to the Jabra Engage 65. Currently shopping for headsets, need to be able to connect to desk phone and I like the ability to simultaneously connect to a pc, so I am currently leaning to this Jabra.

Hi Richard, in the Plantronics (now Poly) line, the Savi 8220 would be the comparable to the Engage 55. A third underrated alternative to both that we'd highly recommend taking a look at as well is the Adapt 30 here discoverheadsets.com/products/discover-adapt-30-modular-wireless-office-headset

Hi great video, thanks! Do you have a video on the differences between Jabra Engage 65 vs Jabra Engage 75? I am looking for a headset that i can use with both an NEC desk phone and MS Teams on my computer. Thanks!

They are the exactly the same aside from the Engage 75 also offers Bluetooth connection to a mobile phone. Check a popular alternative to consider as well here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJiXZ3dpdq1_mrcsi=gMizMQ-Qjo537uiV

I don't need long range and connect to desk phone. Is it resonable to buy this model? Is the sound clear so mutch better with DECT? :-)
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
If you don’t need the range or ability to connect to a desk phone, you wouldn’t notice a sound quality difference between comparable Bluetooth models.

Hi Laura, go to your start menu > control panel > hardware and sound > sound > in playback and recording you would set the Jabra headset to default.

My employer uses maxuc and my contact center agent for calls. I'm leaning towards getting this model. We don't have hard phones to hook into. Everything is web based.

In that case the Engage 55 or Yealink WH62 Portable may be a better way to go.

Can I use the base station of the headset to mute and end calls, and connect it directly to my laptop without needing any additional software?
@HeadsetAdvisor3 ай бұрын
Yes, you can mute from the base but to end calls from the charging base depends on which call software you use on the computer. To enable this feature, you usually you have to download Jabra Direct.

"I work from home. Does this headset require any additional software, considering that I need it for a laptop where no extra software can be installed? Can it be muted when you're not on a call?"
@HeadsetAdvisor3 ай бұрын
No software is required for the headset to work and there isn't a way to mute while not on a call we're aware of.

How does the Jabra Pro 9450 compare to this Engage 65?

Both would be comparable but the Pro 9450 is discontinued and the Engage 65 is the replacement, so it should overall be an improvement.

Do you have a deskphone at all in the office or in home? if just PC/Laptop is required then you could get the Jabra Engage 55 then transport the headset and usb dongle back and forth. I typically recommend the headset to stay in office and get a seperate one for home just so you never accidentally leave it behind unless you travel with computer then headset always stays with PC.
