Shahrukh is fine working with Pakistani actress, he is fine applauding the Pakistani cricketers, he is fine being the lap dog of Ambani by praising his son, he is fine with his son consuming drugs. Being a Muslim he is fine with his kids wearing bikinis, he is fine mocking common public when it suits him. He is everything what A Person Deserving National Awards is not supposed to be. To be worthy of National Award means being the best of that nation. All the KHAN IN Bollywood are nothing but pretenders. Don't be a FOOL supporting a hules because it shows how naive you are. No doubt it was a very good sport drama movie but it's not out of bollywood stereotype... It did show hindu vs muslim. ( specially muslim as victim and Hindus as aggressor which is not true (it's other way around)). This movie was inspired by the Indian hockey player Mir Ranjan Negi defeated by PAK in Asian games 1982 (he is a Hindu but in movie showed as muslim and showed as victim )

People will say this is one of the best movies I don't think so. I still like Swades as his best movie. And FYI I don't hate SRK but this movie let me down cause they are Veteran Actor's how did they not know the screenplay is copied. 🖖

Fun Fact #1: Apparently, Shah Rukh Khan used to play field hockey in his college days, and felt right at home with the hockey terminology and body language of a hockey player. However, the filming crew wanted to create an authentic impression about actual games of field hockey, and thus called in actual field hockey coaches to extensively train the cast for a basic level of hockey sport. SRK also took refresher courses to brush up on his Hockey game, so that he wouldn't look out of place. Fun Fact #2: The penalty stroke (that SRK missed at the starting) had to be shot multiple times over, because the narrow miss (that the script demanded) was very difficult to pull off. The stroke either went into the net, or missed with a wider margin.

The fact is, the story of CDI is very loosely inspired from the 2002 Commonwealth Games win of the Indian women's hockey team, about which the director had read an article which inspired him to write the script. In fact, he was not even aware of Mir Ranjan Negi's (the "Hindu coach" you're talking about) life and problems when he started writing. Negi was a goalkeeper in the Indian team, not a striker as Kabir Khan is shown in the movie. Further, in reality the famous loss after which Negi was removed was a 7-1 loss against Pakistan at the Asian Games, and not a 1-0 at the "World Cup" as shown in the movie. Negi was closely involved in the making of the film and denied that the story was based on him. It seems the man himself was not at all concerned with the communal Hindu-Muslim angle which you seem to hold.

9:17 - They didn't really start running at night, it was early morning. Throughout the film, he tells the girls to be at the field at 5am in the morning. He has apparently started their coaching in Winter, and the sun rises a bit later during that season, which is why 5am seems like night, but it really isn't. Also, jogging 10kms (6.2 miles) does take long, therefore it becomes bright early morning after sunrise by the time they are done.

It's the great sports movie made and best female lead related as well. SRK nailed the role as the coach driven by passion for his country even when everyone sees him as a country betrayer. Clearly no one can nail that role than him. The actresses were given 4 months of intense training in fitness and field hockey so all of the shots played in movie are convincingly real player shots. And some even had field hockey experience prior audition.

What??? Indian men hockey team was invincible powerhouse from 1928-1980 winning 8 gold ,2silver ,2 bronze in Olympics that time. And also dominated in world's hockey championship during that time (except for Pakistan did the domination sometime). This is the history of indian hockey Now back to present day from 2015 indian hockey is again on the rise indian men's hockey junior team won 2 world cup championship. 3:55 Achara, the premise of the movie is similar to/ inspired by Ranjan Negi's story where Negi was the goal keeper when India lost to Pakistan 7:1 in the finals of Asian Games. He later joined the Indian team as goal keeping coach and the Indian team won gold in Asian Games1998. The film maker changed/ adopted Khan as the last name in the movie, with probable intention of using the Muslim angle for added dramatic effects. It is common for Bollywood movie makers to pick and choose religions and castes of protagonist and antagonist in such a way that will exploit the societal fault lines, in the process helping the movie make more money. Shamshera is a good recent example.

Hockey is more excahusting then soccer. In soccer u only use your legs with straight body position, but in hocky u use your legs+ arm, and you have to bendyour body 60 degree everytime when you passing the ball. Hope u understand
