Here is your Starter Guide for Jack-8 in Tekken 8! This should get you from zero to intermediate pretty much right off the bat if not even better. Jack is a very big boy, but don't confuse him for the standard fighting game biig boy mold, he's actually a master of poking and low-level mixups, although his new tekken 8 stance lets him do a lot of the usual ignorant big boy stuff! So enjoy the vid and all its breakdowns/strats/combos and give it a watch! Like if ya liked it, and let me know what you think

As a newcomer to Tekken (well, sort of, I played a little of Tekken 2 with my brother when I was a little kid), Jack honestly looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Big man with a straightforward poke-centric playstyle and funny armor moves
@Gilbot90009 ай бұрын
Just finished it. Thank you so much for having the inputs on, showing your combo notation, slowing things down so we can see and understand it, and explaining the character's gameplan in the beginning (I had literally no idea he was a fundamentals/poking damage) and how to use the pokes, as well as what they're called in the move list.
@harrylane49 ай бұрын
There’s such a bad tendency in Tekken guides to hide inputs. Between that and the fact that they refuse to use a wiki and would rather hide everything in obscure, difficult-to-find google docs pages, you’d think they don’t WANT you to learn their game

This is genuinely the best and most in depth guide I've seen in forever, at least for a guide with beginners in mind. I love that you not only went over different moves and their uses, but also repeated multiple times what the inputs were and just generally made everything very clear. Usually guides miss out on something, whether it be inputs, when to use certain moves, frame data, or even just clarity. This one checks every single box, and does it in a very respectable amount of time. Keep it up dude!

Great guide. A couple stance details that seemed to not be mentioned: 1) his powered up Gamma 2 also becomes a Power Crush, in addition to the other things you mentioned, and 2) you can do crouch grabs from stance, one of which is a Heat Engager (and you can combo into it from F3+4 on hit).

Awesome guide man. I've watched it twice already so I can absorb a lot of what you presented. I've sorta capped out at Eliminator rank with basic fundamentals honed way back in my Tekken 3 and Tag days, but this will 100% fill the gaps in my game, specifically the bnb combo's to much more effective punishes. I had already identified that as my biggest gap because I was only getting about 46 or 47 damage on launch. There were several moves I wasn't aware of and you've got me thinking a lot more effectively regarding plus frames and keeping the offensive pressure going. I legit didn't even know about the guard break which is hugely important. Thanks as always for the stellar work.

I have a big question here, that is not really a Jack question, but more of a fundamental Tekken question. When you brought up using f,f+4 after the counter hit f+2, I realized that I have no idea what will hit grounded opponents and why. Is there some way to determine for any given character which moves work on grounded targets? It seems like most (all?) lows work, but f,f+4 is a mid, I think.

Im trying really hard to learn jack but every single match i go into is just an absolute stomp. If i play too defensive and just chip people down, i get rushed the second i make a mistake and loose all of my health in 1 to 2 combos. If I try to play a more aggressive style, I get counter hit out of every single attack i throw out and just get juggled to death again. If i try to play the mid game or keep away, again the second i make a single mistake or bad read i loose all of my health in 1 combo. Idk what to do. Guilty gear strive was is my very first fighting game and i dedicated almost 100 practical hours into just learning potemkin, so jack was a pretty easy pick for me. His big, hes silly, and he has the chance to do a ridiculous ammount of damage with simple hits. And yet I cant land a single attack. Im at a wall and i dont know how to get past it, and it makes it really discouraging to want to keep learning this game...
