I think that damage meme is getting older as we’re moving into newer tekkens. Deathfist does less and less damage as time goes on and new series are released. Bring back the tekken 3 deathfist!!

21 years ago (yeah, I'm that old), I was playing Tekken with a friend regularly. I was Nina, and he was Paul. I would get my ass handed to me (my friend was simply better). Still, I see Paul, and I feel the rage bubbling up in me even to this day lol.

I've been watching these guides and messing with the characters as this is my first Tekken. Just today, using Paul after practicing with the guide, the game really clicked. Other characters I've tried are: Jin, Xiaoyu, Raven, Yoshi, Reina, King, Sheehan, Leo. So far Yoshi is the most fun, but Paul really clicked today.

I was never much of a Tekken fan until this new one dropped. It made me a fan overnight. But one thing I remember from the original game was a character with weird hair that stood straight up. I didn’t remember his name. After doing a little research, I learned that this IS that character 😆

Gettin my ps5 tomarrow(yeeey) for tekken 8 alone! I started with tekken 7 taurnament vids and got me curious. Once 1st tekken 8 trailers came out i got clicked badly. Haven't finished the video so sorry if you mention it later, but something important to point out with Paul's df2 is that it doesn't launch crouchers unless it's a counterhit. If your opponent is crouchblocking and you tag them with df2, it will force them standing and leave you at +3 on hit.

Watching this made me try Paul again. Paul has some strong tools but the problem is in ranked online people play characters that either force you to play their game and they're in control the entire match or they play a character that you have no idea what they are doing. TLDR; Paul is fun and strong on paper but usually he has to severely outplay the opponent to win. Him being simple is what makes him hard because everyone knows all of his moves.

my guides are by default anti guides basically, you will learn everything about a char and therefore know what to fight. If you mean a hyper specific guide against a certain move, I haven't found anything annoying enough to warrant it honestly

This character is so badass but for some reason I feel like he’s still stuck in the 90s doing those old school moves whose properties really haven’t changed much on hit or on block. He doesn’t really have any knowledge checks or cheesy strings, teaches you a lot of good tekken imo tho! A deathfist and a dream.

Any tips for connecting the 2 forward dash 4,2,sway,1+2? It feels so hard to connect it in some of the combos, like if there was a 4, df4, 2 portion

well its 32 sway not 42! its literally as simple as just do the jab, then dash and do the 32. For the sway do not let the full sway go off, end it early by doing 1+2 as soon as it lets you.

@@rooflemonger sorry I mistyped. But yeah the dash input between the 2 and 32 sometimes feel impossible or turns into ff3. I have gotten better with practice but still dropping it a lot, so it may not be ideal for me to do this as much yet so I lose some damage by dropping the 2 and going straight to 32sway1+2

@@rjagda you can just go right into dash after hitting 2 there is no need to wait for anything, you can prre-buffer it. That said if its tough right now keep pracitcing but dont feel bad to drop the jab to make sure it lands in an actual match

I have problems with QCF 2 with leverless....it is very inconsistent on my side

I use leverless as well and have zero issue. Keep in mind any move thats crouch dash related the game will not let you buffer a single frame of it, it can only be done if paul is 100% at neutral(or running). You cannot pre-input it at all for any combo or anything like that
