Hey Mitch, saw you in the benefit concert video at L'Amour in Brooklyn in '91. Do you have any cool Vito Bratta stories? It was the concert with White Lion, Tyketto, Extreme and of course....you were there too.
@mitchmalloy3468
@mitchmalloy3468 15 күн бұрын
@@JoeR203 No even though White Lion and I had the same management in the early years I never got to know Vito much. But I am a huge fan of his playing and writing. I’m happy to see Mike is back using the name again. He deserves that. And Mike is a good man.

@@mitchmalloy3468 Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yeah Vito was a phenomenal player and actually replaced EVH as my favorite guitarist.......which is something special because I was pro VH for years and didn't consider anyone else to be as good as, or greater than Eddie. But Vito's solos were just so well put together and his rhythm playing is also not to be ignored. I just wish he'd upload a 5 minute video of himself just noodling on guitar in his house once or twice a month. That would be enough to satisfy his fans. He doesn't need to get a band together, record an album and tour. Nobody will ever see Jason Becker play guitar again because he can't move a muscle in his body. And nobody will ever see Vito Bratta play guitar again.......because he doesn't want to. 😞

I only knew Jack Blades by name. And I've never listened to any of his bands (though I did hear a couple Night Ranger tunes on MTV in the 80s) - not really my thing. The only reason I watched this is because I've enjoyed your other interviews and figured that if Jack is interesting enough for you to want to have as a guest, then I'll support that. And I'm glad I did: this is one of the most enjoyable and uplifting interviews I've seen with anyone. I also appreciate Jack portraying Ted Nugent in such a positive light. I was a big Amboy Dukes fan (particulary when Rusty Day was in the band) and have always felt Ted - much of it due to his own reaction-baiting shenanigans - never got a fair shake. Still, he - 55 years after the Dukes' 'Journey to the Centre of Your Mind' - is still riding high on his own terms. Thank you once again. And to Jack Blades. You two really should make some music together.

@@KennyAronoffOfficial Thank you. BTW, as an MI marketer I want you to know that IMO the visually striking design of your lead image (the one seen above) is one of the very best. It is crisp, clear, and consistent from episode to episode and thus acts as an effective branding vehicle. It is also devoid of any affectations of 'cool' - it, like you and your show itself is very real and authentic (as your chat with Jack suggests). Even including the episode number within it (versus in the caption) is smart; it drives viewers back to previous chats and creates anticipation for future ones. In short, it stands out in a magnetic manner. Whether it is you or someone else preparing those, an acknowledgement for a job excellently done is warranted. Indeed, it is too bad many of the big brands lack such strategic design for their websites and posts. Cheers!

Mr. Aronoff, You have been my favorite drummer since I saw you play with Mellencamp (winter of '92, I think) in Dayton. Over the years, after you played with so many other folks, I can hear a song by someone and know it's you on the drums just from listening. I am not a drummer myself. I went the vocals route. But I have always been very interested in the techniques of all drummers. You are The Man. I'm glad I found your channel recently. Keep hitting things with sticks, Man.

Nonsense. I saw that tour too, at the L.A. Forum, and Night Ranger didn't "rock Sammy out of the building." They were both awesome, but Sammy was at his peak, success-wise as a solo artist (pre-Van Hagar), and there was no mistaking who the headliner was. Night Ranger had one album out and did a great 30-40 minute set. No complaints -- they were fantastic. But Three Lock Box was all over AOR radio, and Sammy's back catalog songs were too, and he was on fire. He had that red Trans Am on stage, and was singing and playing on the rigging above the stage ... he put on a heck of a show. You can praise Night Ranger without using hyperbole and misrepresenting things.

@@KennyAronoffOfficial no worries when John Kolodner resurrected Portrait through Epic he had Ratt, Damn Yankees and Cinderella…and they were all once again back on a major label (briefly), I guess only Ratt’s record came out. The Cinderella album is still unreleased, as is the Damn Yankees. It has become something of legend….

Hi Rob - you’re not confusing that w/ the Night Ranger lp that JDK put out thru Portrait/Columbia? I was upstairs @ the W Coast Columbia office a ton- during that period of Tim DeVine, Kalodner & Randy Jackson being the senior A&R chiefs in LA…)

@@karllouis2600 “"The new regime came in, and they didn't want to do anything [with that style of music]. And in fact, they paid Damn Yankees a million dollars not to do another Damn Yankees record. We're like, 'Really? OK, we'll just take the check. Why not?' That was how it was because Damn Yankees had sold so many records and we were so recouped, so in our contract the next thing was like 'we get a million bucks to do an album,' and they just paid us the million dollars not to do the record. That's how much nobody wanted anything to do with that era and style of music.”

Brad playing with Ozzy didn't hurt much either... I saw you guys with Sammy Hagar at Hara Arena in Dayton Ohio and have a poster from the show of a giant Sammy stepping into a full stadium w/Boston banners hanging... we didn't know who was opening and I think the flag dropped as the backdrop and we went nuts...

Going back to the ear;y 80s. My friends thought Jack was faking his Bass Playing. I even saw NR in concert and though Fitz was holding down the bottom with pedals. You can’t blame us …running around strumming that thing like Danny Partridge. But he was cool anyway. Read in Circus Magazine he was in some band called Rubicon…. Well decades later with KZbin I checked out Rubicon…and then I heard Jacks bass playing ability and it was next level. Man we’re we wrong….of course Jack has informed us he played for and jammed and was endorsed by one of the greats . As with a lot of high energy 80s music it was about guitars and the bass was there to hold the bottom down.Jack did his job well. He wrote and sang great songs, was an energetic front man, had what I believe was the best hair of any rock srar, and held the bottom down. 😂

So the reason there are not alot of Thin Lizzy videos is partially do to the Death of Phil Lynott. I can remember qhen Dee Snider played one of his videos after he passed away and Dee was hosting Headbangers Ball which then was only 1/2 hr program at about 3pm on weekdays in America. Truth is they were just pre video movement.
