There is only one sound investment strategy aside of insider trading, and that would be Jacks's approach. Buffet could be easily a fluke. I mean if you let a million chimps choose companies by throwing shit at a chart with s&p500 companies, there could be easily a handful Buffets.

There is only one scenario where active management would beat passive management. For a 3 or 5 year period maybe longer all the major passive management funds would have to return 3% or so while somehow active management funds beat major benchmark indexes and return 6% or higher.

In England you should never buy silver. The Vanguard S&P 500 index fund is a must have just like physical gold is a must have for an Englishman. I spent a year in England, a place called Godalming in Surrey. The town was very upscale and wealth. I learned a lot from my time in that beautiful part of your country.
