The Greatest Harness Racing Announcer Period!! All of the "one liners" were created by this guy... all of them... surprised he didn't trademark them..

Grew up in the 70's and 80's in Yonkers. While The Bullet was good, there was nobody better than Jack. I can still hear him calling Bobbo at R.R. If anyone has Jack calling Bobbo, it would be a great post. Jack, you were The Greatest. R.I.P.

1ST THERE WAS THE "RESULT LINE",THEN THEY HAD THE STRETCH CALL. SOMETIMES I WOULD CALL JUST TO HEAR JACK !I LOVED IT WHEN HE WOULD SAY "AND - - - - - - - CAN SEE 'EM ALL !!" HE WAS THE BEST !!! I MET HIM ONCE AT AN OTB. I ASKED HIM WHAT'S THE DOUBLE GOING TO BE. HE SAID "B' AND "B", (OTB LETTERS). HE WAS RIGHT !!! $12.00 DOUBLE !! I TOLD HIM THAT HE AND FRED CAPOSELLA WERE THE 2 GREATEST CALLERS EVER. HE THANKED ME. HE WAS VERY POLITE !!!

I met him at an OTB too. Guessing '88 or so. He was with his wife. The three of us got along really well. Someone up there above just said, "Voice of God.". That is a just a very slight exaggeration. At best.

77WABC He does not hit the table... you don't know xxxx. There was a 900 number back in the day to listen to "Stretch Calls" and he turns the tape recorder off... take it to the bank

Greet memories of eating at wolfs deli on on country rd leaving my 73 nova in the parking lot jumping over the fence to walk the long lot to RR .. inevitably returning broke to my car ( no boot on car)..ahhhh 1978-80...dammit I want to take it back to Willoughby, 😉

HE was simply the best, sometimes you would'nt even notice his nuiances, for instance a heavily favore 'Train Robber' stuck in traffic deep stretch wiggles free wins by a half , and jack calls it as " THERE NOT GOING TO CATCH THE TRAIN ROBBER TONIGHT"!!!

@mrsunshineshines i have seen it, its out there on youtube somewhere, try searching 'great harness racing stretch drives' but lemme tell ya: Yankee Predator really won that photo in the 1983 American Trotting Championship....they fixed it somehow.....he handed Bobbo his ass on a plate......longest photo in the history of Roosevelt, at least for me........Bobbo couldnt hold a candle to Ideal du Gazeau or Bridger or Classical Way......
@dougkaddish33437 жыл бұрын
cgambler864 --- I agree with everything you state... however my friend Bobbo won this night by a xxxx hair.... worked for Jones Precision.. we didn't "fix anything"
