My favourite thing about it was that sometimes they used the exact same lines that were in the book and said it just how I imagined they would. Couldn't stop crying throughout the whole thing, it's just so bloomin' beauiful.

This film was one of very few that actually wrecked me, but in a beautiful and touching way. It carried a HEAVY trigger warning for me with the twist as it gets towards the end, to the point where I don't think I'd ever be able to watch it again. This sounds like a bad thing, but it is actually incredible, because it means it has has addressed this issue in such a realistic and relatable manner that I felt like I was the main character, and I cried for three hours straight afterwards. Beautiful movie though.

Yet there is a song in the movie that was made in 1993. The rest of them are from mid to late 80's. I think the film is being ambiguous about when it's set. To me, it felt like an 80s film in every sense of that title.

I cried at the end of this movie- but not like a 'I feel sympathetically sad for this character' type of cry but a 'deeply affected-bit of a personal breakdown' kinda cry. one of my favorite books translated effortlessly into a beautiful film :)

I finished the book a few days ago, and just finished watching the film had I am crying my eyes out. Such an amazing film, and the book was brilliant. I was quite disappointed that they missed the chops poem though.... Amazing. Will definitely turn into a classic

It was so good that my boyfriend had a bit of a man cry. Having read the book, I really didn't want to be let down, and I wasn't. I think the working of the flashbacks was done in a subtle, non-cliche sort of way. There are so many reasons this film was great that I just can't put it into words.

There's such few movies that can live up to the book version but I'm going to take the liberty of saying that it ACTUALLY kinda makes it better! You're SO right about the whole 'shook-up' feeling after the movie was over even though I knew what the story was. I'm SO going to be tripping over the soundtrack for days on end! And the fact that the author/director kept it this concise! P.S.: You MUST read the book and then review again! See how it changes things! :D

I have read the book, I finished it last night and I'm seeing the movie on friday night... So yeah, I saw this film a few weeks ago, and it's amazing. It's everything I hoped it would be, all the acting was awesome and it put across all the main points. In comparison to the book I thought it was amazing. In an age where a book becoming a movie is the popular thing to do, this is by far the best and all writers should make a move like Chbosky and have as big of an impact on the making of the film adaptation. I knew it would be excellent since he wrote and directed but my god. It was amazing.

I read the book when I first heard that there was going to be a film, and it had a massive impact on me. I wasn't even sure whether I liked it or not, but I knew it was really GOOD. The film I think lacked that magic, (which is why I'm asking you now to read the book, if you thought the film was hard-hitting!) but the scenes were exactly how I imagined, and Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller were SO good, and really interesting to watch.

THIS IS ENGLAND is definitely my favourite 80's movie. The series are good as well. It's nice comparing the two films and the styles because in This is England and Perks of Being a Wallflower the period comes across very very differently, but I'm not sure whether that's because one's England and one's America or not. Excellent films though I'd recommend them both.
