Jack talks about "Good to be home" because he hadn't played a home show for a hell of a long time. You can watch Jack's Full set on our live broadcast of that Episode here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/joWqqHqcZpKIbNU Enjoy!

Wow, I'm a 47 years young Aussie, and grew up seeing John Farnham live several times, inc when Jack / Irwin was in the band, and .... I had No idea that was his real name. Thank you, and thank you to all those that have mentioned it, because now that I know he continued his musical callings, I'll also know where to further look for more recent material. Awesomeness.

Irwin is such a talent... and one of the nicest guys to go with it.... very humble and another of our artists who should be recognised world wide.... not that he would care much...he just loves to sing. I've followed him for years on Twitter - if any of you have the time to go show him some love that would make his day... and tell them Dominic sent you.. maybe he'll reach out to Nic like some of the others have.

I can’t recommend enough how much you need to go down the rabbit hole of Jack Jones (Irwin Thomas). Both his solo work and with Southern Sons, the band he was the lead singer of. (You previously reacted to their video for ‘Waiting for that train’). Jack is a phenomenal singer and guitarist. If you go digging it won’t take you long to find his and Phil Buckle’s connections to John Farnham. Phil was a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for Southern Sons (he wrote this song. He was also the one playing guitar between the moving trucks in the ‘Waiting for that train’ video and the one playing guitar in the Farnham ‘Burn for you’ video that you also reacted to. Phil co-wrote that song too.) If you search KZbin for any of the videos from John’s ‘Chain Reaction’ 1990 / 1991 concert you will see Jack and Phil as part of John’s band on that tour. I could go on about Jack, Phil and Southern Sons but I will spare you an essay. I’m just really glad they are on your radar now. Oh, and I’m so happy to witness you develop your love and appreciation for John Farnham. He is the GOAT in my eyes too.

"Hold Me in Your Arms" is a song by Australian rock-pop band Southern Sons. It was released in March 1991 as the third single taken from their debut studio album, Southern Sons (1990). The song peaked at number 9 in Australia, becoming the band's second top ten single. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1992, the song was nominated for ARIA Award for Song of the Year, losing to "Treaty (Filthy Lucre Remix)" by Yothu Yindi. Peace out.

The love for Jack “Irwin Thomas” Jones in these comments is delightful. And yes, I’m the Chain Reaction video, he’s the long haired guitarist. M Farnham used the say it was awesome when Jones was on the band because he could take a break and no one would notice. That was a great tour. Southern Sons opened for Farnham then Jones and other Southern So a member Phil Buckle (wrote Burn for you) would double up abs play in Farnhams band.
