I was surprised to hear that people with mental health issues, homelessness and abuse are considered as not able to practice meditation. The people who had success in the nun’s convent I believe had success because she believed that was possible. They weren’t rejected as they usually are. Or should I say we not they?

I think this is a difficult issue, as my own case was nearly tragic, yet if it weren’t for the Theravada training I and many other beings would either be no longer living, or in greater suffering now.
