Just before Lord was cast as Steve McGarett he guest starred on a first season episode of Ironside opposite Raymond Burr portraying quite chillingly a very, very creepy high powered crooked lawyer for a top king pin in the eastern syndicate of the Cosa Nostra (i. e. the mafia). This video is riddled with errors. His wife was born in 1905, not 1941. She was 100 years old (at the time of her death), not 62. They married in 1949, not the 1960s. The B-52 was never used by the Army Air Corp as it wasn’t introduced in to service until 1955 (as a bomber for the United States Air Force (not the Army Air Corp). He had left the military long before the bomber’s test flight. I could go on. There are even more errors I can easily confirm. If any research was actually done, the sources used must have been loaded with half-truths and out-and-out lies.

Jack Lord had an incredible presence and a commanding voice. Many people don't know that he was the first actor to play CIA agent Felix Leiter in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No. He was considered for the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek TV series in 1966. Gene Roddenberry and Desilu Studios, as well as Jack Lord did not feel it was a good fit. Jack Lord turned it down because he did not like the role. In his retirement he did a lot for the state of Hawaii and became an unofficial spokesman and ambassador for the state. Due to the TV show "Hawaii Five O and the role that he played as Steve McGarrett, aka actor Jack Lord, is honored with a sculpted bust in the parking lot outside a Honolulu Kahala Mall in front of Macy's. Though appearing somewhat out-of-place today the colorful leis around his bust neck prove he is still loved by many" RIP John Joseph Patrick Ryan (a.k.a. Jack Lord, age 77) December 30, 1920 - January 21, 1998.

@ccastaneda669 Жыл бұрын
@@thisisme3238 You had a very good question and it made me think. Why was it put there instead of another location. I did a little research and this is the answer that I found. The mall was selected because "of all places, is this tribute located at the Kahana mall? It’s because Jack Lord and his wife Marie De Narde lived nearby, and the mall was one of their occasional shopping stops. The bust, unveiled in 2004, was created by sculptor Lynn Weller Liverton."
@ccastaneda669 Жыл бұрын
@FactsVerse Thank you for your question. With so many wonderful episodes, it's hard to decide, but I guess if I had to pick one. It would be season 5, episode 10, titled "'V' for Vashon: The Father." It's an episode, one of several leading up to this one, with the focus on the Vashon crime family. It Honore Vashon vs. Steve McGarrett in a game of cat mouse and revenge. The question is who is the cat, and who is the mouse. Honore Vashon (played by the great Harold Gould) puts a contract on Steve McGarrett for the death of son Chris Vashon that he blames on Steve McGarrett. Here is a bit of trivia you might find interesting.: "Harold Gould earned a Ph.D. in theater and taught speech and drama at Cornell University." "Pursuing off-Broadway work in the 1950s, he decided to practice what he preached and became a full-time professional actor in the 1960s."

Where did you get your info from, there are so many errors, Marie was born in 1905 as someone else says, Jack met her in 1947 not in the 60’s when he had seen a house she had designed and wanted to find out who the owner was,it well documented how they met, Marie revealed it in an interview. she was 15 years older, not 14 She was not an artist, she was a fashion designer. It was her that took care of Jack in later life, not him taking care if her. Some of the facts are true which can be found in many articles, but he never had a star in the Hollywood walk of fame. If so why is it not shown. Marie was never a model or an actress and that is not her pic shown. And they married in jan 1949 not 1958, you say Marie passed away at age 64, given she was born in 1905 that would be impossible, she was 91 when Jack died and lived to 100. She was born in france, but was not an actress or model, her career was in fashion, but she gave it up to become a housewife and devote herself to Jack as she thought a wife should do. Another thing, Jack did not join the army and didn’t serve in the infantry, he was in the merchants Marines, as a sailor. His ship was sunk and he was in the lifeboat for 16 hours, he felt he was saved for a purpose that being an actor. So please when you do these vids, get your facts right. At least it wasn’t a critical one like some. I’m a devotee of Jack and a friend of someone who knew him as her uncle and lived with the lords as a child, so know a lot of how Jack really was,

My grandma told me how we shook their hands and was really a wonderful person. Marie died at 100, not 64. Marie and her 2 brothers were born in St. Louis , MO USA, not France. Not even close! Come on!

I can see why Jack Lord wanted to keep his personal life private he married his wife when she was 17 and he was 38 years old. I am shocked.

There are a lot of mistakes in this video. Marie Lord was older than Jack and she lived to be 100.
