I met Anjelica Huston when she came to Miami to Film "The Perez Family", I was hired to teach her some of the cuban culture. One night we went to dinner with a friend of mine and after the dinner we came back to my apt. That night she told us the story with Nicholson and confessed that after broken with him she was devastated and her heart forever broken. She was mistreated by him mentally, and she confessed that he used to tell her that she was not pretty enough to be in movies, that she better stick to theatre. I was livid, that was a night I will never forget. It was kind of surreal. Angelica is a classy, elegant, caring woman and real Hollywood Royal, her father was iconic, so she inherit his talent and kindness. It was a real honor to have met her.

To y’all talking about how long this lasted and “what a life lesson” and “if only she had self love, she’d have left sooner,” or “I would leave, I can’t believe she put up with that!” Look up TRAUMA BONDING, victims are abused so often and in a way that deliberately targets their self esteem so that they fear that they can’t do any better, and they are programmed to fear leaving, this is also when abusers are the greatest threat to their victim. If you are lucky enough to get away from them, they will typically come after you, your loved ones, your job, reputation, etc. A perfectly confident, intelligent and beautiful woman like Angelica isn’t the only woman, ANY self-loving woman can lose self esteem when abused so seriously stop judging her for staying, you don’t get it if you haven’t been in that position. She also lived in a time where women were expected to tolerate men’s abuse, it was and still is way more common than anyone would care to admit.

Ill give the one about it being a different time, very true but trauma bonding sounds like a bunch of crap. We are talking about adults here. Jack Nicholson's behaviour is not healthy, and I would bet that it also does not make him happy. I have childhood trauma, and till today at 30 years old I still find myself having to remember that I am responsible for my actions, that whatever happened in my childhood is no excuse for my shortcomings, I was a child. We are talking about adults here. Set your boundaries people, open your eyes, that relationship had toxic written all over it. And she is responsible for staying and enabling him. And he is a piece of shit. They are both adults.

You have to realize that isn’t an excuse for not take action though. I have no choice but to judge her because she wasn’t confident enough to leave the abusive relationship. Nicholson is narcissistic, sure, but he’s not the type of person to deliberately take retaliation and make someone’s life a living hell. It’s common for narcissist to make empty threats for means of manipulation, so I don’t see the argument here. Now you’re essentially just excusing her to not take action on abuse, which is almost worse than being abusive yourself. I have no sympathy here. Sorry

Both Angelica and Jack had traumatic childhoods. Angelica had an emotionally absent father and mother who had lots of affairs/marriages and she was left begging for attention and I think as happens to many women she was drawn to someone just like her father. Jack found out that the woman and man who raised him were actually his grandparents and that his sister was actually his mother and he never knew who his real father was until late in life. This damaged him and I think for all his womanizing and "love" of woman that he really hates women and is unable to trust anyone. He should have "Toxic, Stay Away" tattoos on his forehead. I'm glad that Angelica eventually found a stable, supportive man and am sorry she lost him. Hope she'll find someone else good for her.

He's actually mimicking more the father in his story - completely absent. He desperately needs to be loved but he cannot be present for any woman. The deception within his family sealed the deal in his spirit that he was a product of shame.

Abusive individuals always balance out their acts of humiliation and contempt with acts of goodness. It’s a tragic cycle that keeps them in control, and from what I’ve seen Nicholson’s character has always been that of a womanizing cad. Angelica is such a strong and talented woman, but as someone else stated here in the comments, she was trauma bound to him. It just goes to show that people are still human despite their respective levels of success.

With such an amazing talented actress it’s hard to believe Nicholson got away with years in skirting the issue of marriage with her. Was he just using her because of her father’s fame & influence; being with the right people for the sake of his own career? He is a great actor, but don’t like the personality of the man; too caviller & nonchalant ! Good luck Angelica!

Had I known Ms. Huston, I'd repeatedly remind her "if there is no respect, the love gradually fade into obscurity". Nicholson did a lot of things hoping Huston would leave him. Yet, she hang on to the relationship. When a man blatantly cheat on your face, it's an open door for you to break up with him because he is too coward to breakup with you himself (or he didn't want to be named the heart-breaker).

I think back when they were dating there was a trend to have little to no boundaries, more open relationships were very “cool”, usually more acceptable with one partner than the other, which would persistently make Angelica in this case very sad while Jack would always have the ego boost of attention from young ladies. That’s why it lasted for years. He probably gave her hope at times. Now we call it trauma bonding, back then she was probably accused of being uncool, he was a star, of course, he could do what he liked!? It’s completely disrespectful and hurtful. Later Jack was well known for not being faithful. I think that’s fine as long as he had been honest and not strung her along. 😥

“Marry you, are you kidding?” Any woman that hears something like that even once needs to leave because if you are dating a man that won’t even consider marrying you then there is no point to continue the relationship because he has already decided he will never walk through that door with you. There is really no point in. Into using in that kind of relationship. He at least has to consider you to be a possibility.
@starlight272773 жыл бұрын
Why you call Jack a liar? He was always open to her about having other women in his life. We always have a choice. But most people prefer to blame their partner, instead of making use of their free choice to walk away out of the relationship. Which she finally did, this proofs that no one is to blame. Problems abide in weakness and attachment.
