im very excited about this year. Just to watch the development of the young fellas. People underate Hopper. But if he can stay fit, he will prove them all wrong

I liken Seth Campbell to a Rozee in the midfield (obviously Rozee is a star & I’m not comparing the two) but in the way they both move, it’s quite similar, so hearing he was playing a bit in the middle is good as it would provide some zap through there as it sounds like we have a lot of bulls

This is why I want to see these young kids play in the practice matches just to see how they go and we get a better idea as to where they’re at. And would love to see the older guys if they’re going to play in different positions try those out.

My 2 cents from today. Kosi was reasonable in the key defender role. Vlastuin & Broad showed class & poise in defence. Trezise & Brown look likely in small defender roles. Midfield saw Dow matched on Taranto for some time. Agree that Hopper & Ross were standouts. Up forward the excitable Fawcett looks promising. Green & Lalor were great up forward - clean & dangerous. Can see obvious reasons why selected with No. 1 pick. Some flashes of brilliance as usual from Junior. Ryan held his own in ruck & looks much improved. From the VFL, El Nour did some nice things in defence with good composure. I think Lynch went low & hard for ball & may have made contact with Mansell's leg. Standing along Punt Rd fence for the view & incident occured on opposite pocket.

the club doesn't typically show too much of this. they will usually release a 'sounds of training' video which will be very mild snippets of drills and match sim. I wish they would show the whole thing as well!

Good stuff as ever. You watch this stuff so we don't have to. The kicking out from goal. So many times you see someone with the ball on the kick out and it appears an immense problem. The weight of the world is on their shoulders. But this stuff is what they do day after day. They should have a range of systems worked out
