35 years old. Jack's Mannequin was the soundtrack to a very...unique time in my life during college with a girl I shared a very fun year with. No idea where she's at or what she's doing, but I'm sure whatever it is, she's having fun.

I adore Andrew so much, that when I see anything about his illness I get upset to the point where I break down in tears. He is such a strong man, being able to overcome such a huge barrier to make music, and to help people through charity work. Nobody is more deserving than Andrew McMahon. I hope to see an even brighter future for him.

It has been more than 3 years since I first heard this song, and the lyrics "Dark blue dark blue, have you ever been alone in a crowded room?" are still some of the most touching lines I've ever heard. I love it. It's the perfect description of a feeling only some people have had, and everyone who has had it will recognise it in these lyrics. And recognising it comes with this overwhelming sense of relief. "I'm not alone. Other people have felt like this." And it connects those lonely people to each other through the music.

This is when music was good. When music meant something and made you truely feel something. When music touched your soul in a way no music could today. Nothing compares i dare you to challenge me on this. Something corporate gave us andrew mcmahon... i loved them before but then andrew showed me what music can really do to you. He is and always will be my favorite. His music has inspired me throughout many times in my life. I truely wish there was more music like this... or more people who understood. His music reaches in and tickles your insides... in the best way. This is how you should always feel when listening to music.

For those who don't get the video, it pays homage to the Jane Fonda classic "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?". Quick plot: set in Depression era 30's, people join a dance contest with a chance to win money (hard to come by during the Depression). What ensues is a grueling, inhumane contest, with people dying of exhaustion, etc. In the movie, Fonda's character is so distraught by the contest, she asks her partner to kill her. Hence, why the couple at the end kill themselves for not winning.
