As a Yan fanboy, the Aljo knee was actually the highest fight IQ moment. instead of taking the belt from Aljo... he concocted a plot for them to both have belts, champ points on the PPV, and a more marketable rematch with some drama. aka midwit: aljo was acting, 200IQ: Yan was acting. I dont know if it qualifies for best game plan... but Ricky Glenn turning a certain unanimous decision against him into a majority draw by basically pointing at his opponent still laying on the canvas and yelling at the judges to score the last round a 10-8 for him was pretty epic.

I’d just like to say I still don’t see ngannou’s change as impressive. Like all he did was go from winging stupid shots that worked because he’s insane physical abilities to showing the most basic understanding of striking you can find. Like wow a low kick, 2-1 combo, and a check hook.... wow what a turn around lol. Even in the first fight stipe had a hard time just because he physical abilities the most basic technique would’ve won him that fight.

Could there be a Slacky award for sportsmanship in MMA? For a moment like at the 1935 Davis Cup, when Baron Gottfried von Cramm refused to take a match point that would have given Germany victory over the United States, or John Landy the Australian runner, or the English sailor Pete Goss etc. Has there ever been an act of sportsmanship in MMA? In the meantime I'll have to enjoy the dumbest moments in 2021.
