Can someone explain to me why are mma HWs so bad? Compared to boxing HWs they are soo terriable,but I dont know why And yes, most of HW boxers are also terriable compared to lower weight boxers,but the gap in skill between those is much smaller then the gap between smaller mma fighters and hw mma fighters,if you know what I mean...Like you can compare Usyks skills to Canelo for exemple,but you literally cant compare Ngannous skill set to, for exemple Poiriers

I think part of it is some HW boxers start boxing as kids and that's still extremely rare for MMA where most HWs are big guys who convert to MMA in their late teens/20s. Tom Aspinall started young and he looks a lot more fluid than anyone outside Gane whose natural French swagger compensates for his late start. Same in boxing Fury and Usyk both started in their pre-teens compare how they look to Joshua who started at 18 and Joe Joyce who started at 22 who despite both being very hard to beat don't look anywhere near as easy on the eye.

I think alot of the reason heavy boys tend to be bad is because when you weigh so much you have lots of natural power and I think alot of heavyweights tend to rely way too much on their power and not enough on their technique. That plus the fact that it's simply harder to train cardio and maintain a high pace as a heavier person (and the fact that most heavyweights are simply out of shape )
