Just a dumb question here, but what was stopping you from grinding the Maderame blue will seed in Mementos before the Kamishido palace boss? The barrier if I'm not mistaken does absorb ANY attack. I still can’t believe them thinking Female Orpheus was balanced. Like I get that Izanagi No Okami is overpowered too but it’s available at level 91 (assuming you don’t buy from the compendium). Orpheus is available with Neo Cadenza innately at level 11/13. Heat Riser isn’t even available for other Personas until level 75 (excluding Magatsu Izanag which is at level 50/54) and that doesn’t even heal for 30 SP and only targets one ally. Meanwhile Neo Cadenza is only 24 SP, heals, and affects everyone. After I saw how busted this was, I fused Orpheus (and Kaguya) away and forbid myself from using the other DLC Personas (though I’ll probably fuse Athena later on as it’s my favorite of the DLC Personas)

@@JackBenci I have a question for a challenge runner of the series, so you think it’s at all possible to beat Devil survivor Overclocked under the following circumstances: I’ve beaten the game multiple times, cracked every skill, and know all the possible auction demons, BUT the compendium and skills that aren’t obtainable at the start aren’t allowed, meaning until a demon has it I might as well be playing from the normal start and not new game plus

Hey Jack, I know this is months and months later, after the video released, but I just wanna say with all sincerity, that I really appreciated how you addressed the pronunciation debacle in the Intro section. You spoke humbly, were able to poke fun at yourself, showed off WAY more examples than I expected of the precise mispronunciations under discussion from the last video - thus ADDING PROBABLY A LOT MORE TIME to your editing load - showed off the correct pronunciations according to Google, and gave a really good reason for being a bit scatterbrained. I can't IMAGINE the stress I'd have trying to go thru uni AND play Persona 5 Royal, let alone do a challenge run AND RECORD IT, AND EDIT IT, for KZbin consumption. TLDR - your amicable, easy-going approach is really appreciated. I see too many Angry Gamerz(tm) these days, and it's really a relief to see someone be able to acknowledge criticisms while staying positive and not flying off the handle.

In the Super VIP form, you could attack Kaneshiro instead of the pig. Yes, you can do it. It saves item bait. If you damage Kaneshiro enough, he falls off and you take no damage. Of course you need a sufficiently powerful persona, but I am pretty sure you can get that easily.

the first fight, and subsequently your first reset can be avoided. Joker is scripted to hit a crit if you melee on your first turn, then just use your 1 more to kill it with Brave Blade

I feel like you could probably mathematically model success probability by looking at damage over party and dodge efficiency over party (size and composition etc) for every major encounter but I’m not smart enough to do so

Kamoshida: "Damn you!!" Jack: "That's my line!" Question: can Ippon-Datara be put to sleep in the Yusuke awakening fight? I feel like it is possible, but not 100% sure. Because if it is possible, that could have been useful if you know when he is going to take a turn, he will heal a bit, but the technical damage would make up for it. EDIT: For Kaneshiro, it may have been risky to have a second party member, but the added evasion from Yusuke's trait may have saved you a bit of sanity and you may not have had to swap to Orpheus as much to buff evasion seeing as Yusuke has that skill.

a scouting run is basically another save file without the need to restart every time he's hit. that way he could plan a route based on what he finds while scouting instead of going in completely blind

So another pronunciation mistake that most people make is Shido's final forms. It's not Samuel, it's Samael, pronounced Sam-Eye-El. Sometimes spelt Sammael, his name means Poison of God. He's the Demon Prince of Pride, the Angel of Death and former ruler of the Fifth Heaven. He is generally seen as one of the forms of Lucifer.

I know this is like, 2 years late, but in the Kamoshida fight wouldn't it be easier to go into the fight with Joker only, if possible? I don't know if you can control your party at that point, but if you can then the boss would require less resets - keeping Shiki Ouji on would keep you from taking any damage until the spikes, upon which you'd just need to get lucky and then take out Shiho.
