I think if EA can let Bioware cook for the next one after seeing the success of BG3 they can go all the way for the next one, we saw in the art book that they had some fantastic ideas. Veilguard had some bad things but also good ones where we can see that bioware learned from the previous game but everybody is so stuck on the no choices matters from previous games and the dialogues on some scenes that they cant see the good qualities of this game (Not saying this is not important i agree on those). If Bioware is still around after Mass Effect and are still trying to do better, with all the critics on veilguard they are gonna try to use those to make it better. They proved that they listened to some comments from the previous game so im hoping that they'll do the same for the next one. I have some hopes but I guess we'll see with Mass Effect wich direction they are gonna take. 🖐
@cracmar03Күн бұрын
They need to reimplement Keep. Veilguard is good game, but it suffered greatly whenever Keep was showing off. Nobody likes cameo when character in question acts like they have amnesia. And that's how I have felt towards Morrigan, Varric and Isabela. And it's just lost potential. Imagine if they let you choose who was left in the Fade, and if you left Hawke by end when Varric is revealed to be gone, he just heads out and you can see Hawke in background. It would be touching reunion of two friends finally. Veilguard theme was supposed to be 'regret' but neither Varric, nor Isabela, nor Morrigan are allowed to contribute to this theme to flesh it out, because Keep is not present. And endangering if not presumably killing Hawke would be the GREATEST regret Varric could ever have.

@ElizzzzardКүн бұрын
Agreed! and hopefully they will have more time to actually cook properly. We waited 10 years for Veilguard but it didn't take them 10 years to make. What I mean by this is that most of those 10 years were spent making the live service game they originally had (thank the maker for the change). I read somewhere that the game we have now only had 3 years to make. So with a world like Dragon Age where there were SO many different decisions to make as well as lore to write, actors to hire, dialogue to write, and animate the many different potentials of people's world states....that definitely would take a lot longer than 3 years to do. Now that they have a clear idea of where they want the game's direction to be in (I hope), I have high hopes for the next game IF they are still standing after the next mass effect. (again I hope with every fiber of my being that they will be. The story is not done yet)

I thought that image is a bow and it's about Leliana. Which makes sense as this thread skips over Kirkwall entirely. Leliana was absent in DA II furthermore Leliana started with Cassandra Inquisition, Morrigan was also absent in DA II .. could be that feather is Hawke indeed ... thought my initial thought was Zevran, considered he was companion that appears in both Origins and DA II. Well yes if this is Bow for Leliana, then yes she started at Fifth Blight, HoF changed her life - literally, then she started Inquisition once that ended she is either Divine or she leaves ... and in Inquisition we had Solas, so it's his thread that overtakes. Leliana's ends on starting Inquisition, but it was Inquisition that had borne Dread Wolf's return. Morrigan makes less sense, as she is present in Veilguard. And the Bow symbol ends on Inquisition. From that point on it's all about Wolf - so Solas. We could see from bottom part of Bianca for Varric how it should go. Bianca has no thread to Origins, because it makes no sense, and Crossbow has thread going from Kirkwall to Inquisition and ends on Veilguard. Which makes sense as Varric literally dies here. So thread should symbolize connection. And Bow's one ends on Inquisition. Which makes no sense for Morrigan but makes total sense for Leliana instead. She can turn into a ghost by end of Inquisition if you killed her in Origins. Her story was essentially over in that game. Just like Varric's is in Veilguard. Solas story also ends in Veilguard, we can see that blue thread he overtook from Bow symbol ends on Veilguard as well. I still do not understand why Varric was in Veilguard at all .. he and Solas were NOT getting along in Inquisition. It was evident with how they were handling Cole. If anything it should have been Inquisitor who tried to stop them. Ofc that would meant that Solas would accidentally killed the one person he respected and considered a friend/love. An ultimate regret factor for him, the worst accidental death he could have caused. Hell there could be also factor of him being in total and complete denial, causing you to think Inquisitor is alive. Tbh I want dlc's to Veilguard. And yeah I agree, finale should have all previous heroes, preferably with their love interests. I am tired of BioWare constantly tearing their relationships apart. However for HoF they would have to finally end thread of "Search for cure for Calling". And for Hawke for sake of franchise they need to solve Fade thing. They should have kept Keep for Veilguard. Ending with Varric would be more bittersweet if he was finally reunited in Fade, as he walks away, with Hawke. His biggest regret of life being somewhat fixed.

Leliana was in two DLCs for DA2 and was left hand of the divine at the time so she did work with Cassandra.
@cracmar0319 сағат бұрын
@@GRIMHOOD99 Leliana was irrelevant in DA 2. She was in dlc's yes, at Duke Prosper party she just is giving you some small talk about her and past. In Sebastian's dlc all her role boils down to "Please tell Elthina to flee Kirkwall" which Elthina doesn't do because plot must happen. If you look at conspiracy board, the people IMPORTANT in story are pinned. Such as Eye of Seeker representing Cassandra is pinned and linked to Varric's line and also ends on Inquisition. Which makes sense, Cassandra is not present in Veilguard. Even the interrogation about Champion is more work of Cassandra. Leliana wanted to find Hero of Ferelden, and it was more Cassandra that wanted to recruit Hawke.

@@mclovin_tk9727 According to VG Insights, Veilguard has currently sold over 700k copies on Steam alone (and since the game is also available on the EA App, that’s not even the game’s total PC sales so far) and while we don’t currently have the game’s overall sales figures, Dragon Age has always sold more on consoles than on PC, so we can safely assume that the sales on PS5 and Xbox are even higher than that.

Inquisitor’s attire was also a lot more covert, among other things), possibilities of tranquil Solas, glimpses of how Minrathous etc were supposed to be a lot more grim. Yes, a lot of it was mentioned in the art book (you could watch the unboxing videos of interested for details). Basically the direct plans after Inquisition, before they were screwed by EA/live service reboot, and then the current team.
@jenniferhansesКүн бұрын
@@winniesomethin I didn't mind them going more mage punk for Minrathous. If any place was going to have the Thedas equivalent of neon lights, this was the place. I would just also expect to see how all the beauty of Minrathous was paid for, built on the backs of the poor and the slaves. I'm also meh on the Inquisitor's choice of clothes. I don't really care about that one way or the other and would expect that to change right up until the last moment because it's such a random little detail. Tranquil Solus is an interesting possibility. And dear god, Isabella has looked better. And I don't just mean because they deflated her chest. Her lips are also deflated, and her hat actually drives me nuts. A hat like that should sit about a 1/2 inch above your ear or it's going to come off in a light breeze, let alone the kind of stiff wind you sail under. Her hat is like 2-3 inches above her ear. Also she gets that weird line about learning about family in Kirkwall. My experience of DA:II is I have a 50/50 chance of Isabella sticking with me. Bioware was all about not wanting to invalidate your choices and that's why they didn't incorporate world states, but by not incorporating world states, they invalidated Isabella's history and all the choices I made that led up to her not being ride or die for me.

The one thing Veilguard showed us is that they don't care about anything from the past. If they were smart they would do something like what you mentioned. And Endgame style collaboration where all the MCs came together. And you controlled them all ... But they clearly showed they dont care about anything from the old trilogy. Not to mention... seeing them butcher and mishandle the older characters that did make appearances... do we really even want to see them? So we can get watered down politically altered social justice versions of the characters?

@@graynor67 that's not the numbers it needs to sell to make up for its costs. It already is not worth a plug nickle in trade in at Gamestop as they have too many. It also has lost most of it's current player numbers on Steam with most not having finished it. Why do you think EA, a company that thrives on milking a game for every red cent has killed it for DLCs or updates just a week or two after release. You may like it but it failed worse than Anthem and Andromeda. That makes 3 Strikes in a row. I loved Bioware for a long while, but they have become a literal different company than they once were. They have alienated most of their fanbase and the goodwill they once had banked there with us. It's in the numbers and reception of the game, they've bounced too many checks. EA is not a forgiving company by their history of killing studios that under perform.
