The BREEZE fan is fantastic. I bought one almost 20 years ago for my in-laws in the Phillipines to use when they had power outages and could run it directly off the 12 V deep cycle battery they kept fully charged. I saved buying an inverter. Back then, 15 watt solar panels cost $75! Another point, I learned that the plug input takes precedence over the Anderson plugs. You only get one input at a time.

@@CosmoWeems understand and I might get one. Mostly because of the light weight. Can use my onepot or induction or coffee maker. Run a dormitory 110 watt washer or dryer in off grid camp. Game changer like you say. Bit pricey stacked against competitors

@@RoryVanucchi Hard to say Sometimes a gas generator is the solution because of no recharge. Gas generator is not an option for me. Add up the wattage of what you intend to use it for then subtract that from the 1000 watts available (ore like 800 in reality) same for any other brand you choose.

Cosmo Weems looks good!, I’ll give it try, though these will be pancakes since I haven’t a Waffle maker. I like making pancakes and will add in whatever greens I have around, Spinach, Kale, even a stir fry mix of beans, peppers and carrots. I also like to get the edges crispy! Butter and syrup, always great. I like dipping into syrup rather than drenching the cake, then I can keep the flavor integrity of each one until it’s time to eat it. Also love simple butter and sugar. Add the butter and as it melts you sprinkle sugar over top, of course thickness depends on how much butter and sugar you want to indulge in. It’s actually my preferred over syrup. By the way, EVOO goes great with the veggie pancakes too! Don’t forget to get your daily OO!

It just came yesterday and I'm ready to fire it up for some waffles but I have one mundane question. In your recipe you list one of the ingredients as "1/2 cup flaxseed wheat bran oat bran". Is this some kind of combo mix? Thanks.

Solar panel charging for 1000 I think you have to watch the max overcurrent amps and make sure it does not exceed 10amp, but verify w Jackery.... I use a 170W panel to charge mine.

Just rewatching again. I definitely think I should just get two Jackery 500s to supplement the Apex. I can't see any gain by getting the 1000 model to run 2 fridges. I like the insurance of having 3 power stations instead of two, should something go wrong with one of them. The Dokio 300w panel I just got will go to the Apex and my Renogy 100w will charge one of the Jackery stations. It's possible I could manage with one 100w panel but I will get another when I buy a second Jackery 500. The more power the better, IMO. There may be several days like I have here when I'm dodging trees and/or clouds.

Long time subscriber and find your videos very informative and fun! I'm a Vistabule owner looking at the Jackery 1000 package with two 110 W solar panels. Looks like the Jackery solar panels use a different plug end than the Vistabule. Is there an adapter so that I can use these panels to charge my Vistabule battery?

Hi Dan. Test all connections with a meter to make sure you are not shorting something out. I have to be very specific. 1) It sounds like you are using the Jackery Saga 100 panels and you want to connect to the ZAMP connector Vistabule installs in the side of the trailer. Do I have that correct? If so you need this connector. Again test the polarity. It comes with a polarity reverse connector if needed amzn.to/3LpmLtA You might need this connector too depending on your solar panel amzn.to/3LlOZp6 2) All batteries need a charge controller between the solar panel and battery to avoid overcharging the battery. The charge controller needs to be able to accept the maximum wattage the solar panels will pump into the controller (and then the battery). What controller do you have built into the trailer? Model and max amps or watts for that controller? =Cosmo

I Cosmo and thanks for the quick reply! You are correct on your understanding of my situation. With the Jackery 1000 solar charge package they provide two 100 amp panels. I have the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/10. If I understand correctly that controller will only handle 75 W and my 130 W roof mounted solar panels would provide roughly a maximum of 70% of the design wattage or 91 W. A bit confused why Vestibule wouldn’t provide a higher capacity controller since they provide the ability to add on the Zamp 100W panels, but maybe I’m missing something?

I've come acrossed these 200000mha powerbanks for USB usage and found that the flashlight on those devices can stay for over a month. Smaller in size. I don't know why they don't update their batteries. The future of batteries are going to bring in some heavy duty power cells. (Battle born LiFePo4 Batteries)

I have zero complaints. How long the light burns id also dependent on how bright the light is. Right? There is battery available for every need. I have an LiFePo4 but have not reviewed it yet. @@CosmoWeems Found it. It appears the Jackery 1000 DC ports are on a timer and will power down if not used for 12 hours above a certain wattage (10 watts I think). Probably not a problem for most campers, but could be for backpackers, photographers, workers or anyone away from their car for more than a day-ish, assuming cool evening/morning and warm days. The fridge won't draw power during the cool period causing the port to turn off. I would be curious if you find out differently on your 1000. Expect any future discount codes? If so, I will certainly use yours. Thanks for your videos.

Phineas, Again this is incorrect on a few points. The manual states " Turn off each output power button (12V 120V and USB) as NOT DOES NOT TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY or it will drain the battery." A fridge thermostat draws power if the compressor is running or not. There is no relationship between cool and warm days and the jackery providing power. It works fine. I have camped with in both cool and warm days and run it for 6+ days continuously. No issues. You have inaccurate information. Please verify with Jackery if you still have doubts.

Hi JJ. You can charge all of them while using EXCEPT the skallest one the 160 can not be charged while its being used. In general its a bad idea to charge any battery with another battery. There are significant losses converting electricity into a chemical reaction, then when you need it turning chemicals back into electricity. I have read losses can be as high as 40% if that is true then a 500 would charge the 1000 way less than half way. Might be better to just use the 500 as is rather than charging the 1000 with it. Be well. Better days are coming. =Cosmo

In simple what Cosmo is saying. Is yes but you're gonna loose 10-20% of energy when charging from 1 battery to another. So the 500 is 500watts of pure. take 10-20% of energy from that because your using AC. Or even 10% loss via DC. your not getting the full 500watts into your 1000 system. Maybe 400watts roughly. Yes you can 'charge' and 'use to cook' But these jackery's have a poor watt max charge that your 700-1000watt device will take 80-90% more power then what is coming in, Because the max charge a 1000 can do is only 200watts. And sadly jackery has a system design shutdown system built into their dual charging plugs. So if you have 1 thing using the 8mm port and another thing to charge via the and port. The and port will disable itself and only get power from the 8mm. So you can't dual charge like other systems say for Goal zero for instance that'll allow dual charging performance. Jackery's batteries are more batteries then really solar generators as Goal zero's are more spec. So if you want a higher recharge. I'd surely look at Goal zero's.

Cosmo? Most modern vehicles today have built in 110/12 power supplies located within the interior. Have you tried plugging in these Jackery paks in to charge during travel periods?

I have charged on 12V while driving but I do not have specific measurements I can share. AC is the fastest way to charge these. So if your car can handle the AC power brick that would be the fastest recharge time. Other makers offer units that charge in as little as 3 hours but lack other items on the checklist I mentioned such as MPPT, voltage regulated 12V output, battery balancing and quality batteries in the unit. It is possible they have all that but are not listing it. I would only buy when I verified what exactly is in the box. Some look good but are terrible. =Cosmo

In light of the fact that my Apex is unregulated, I'm now thinking of getting 2 of the Jackery 500s to run two little 12v fridges, and saving the Apex for the appliances that need the big inverter and for running my computer. My fridge is losing efficiency because I have to turn off the low-voltage protection. I only get 55 hours run time, taking the Apex down to 20%. I'm amazed at how long you can run your fridge on these Jackery units. Very impressive. I presume the run time is fully discharging the Jackery or did you leave some juice in it?

The difference may be the fridge. I usually dont drain it dry (the Jackery). Your choice needs more thought. I would map it out on paper with recharge times etc. -=Cosmo

Yeah, the hamster wheels are turning. I won't buy anything just yet. I do kinda worry that I may damage my fridge running it on the Apex. If it's not getting what it needs because I'm bypassing it, I wonder if that shortens the life of the compressor. I thought the low-voltage protection was for the benefit of the battery and not the fridge. I will try to contact Ausranvik to see what they think. They didn't seem concerned when they instructed me on how to turn off the protection.

Hi Charlie. For me to make sense of these things I had to add up the wattage of what I wanted to run and divide the total wattage available. For instance the 1000 watt Jack should run a 100 watt light bulb (you remember those right) for 10 hours. This allws me to pick which one or two is best for the trip I am going on. If its waffles I can drain the 1000 with a dozen waffles. =Cosmo

No matter what brand you choose contact them and make sure what exactly is inside the box. ie regulated 12v output, full sine regulator, continuous balancing not just when built etc. I only have it for the 22 pound flashlight Baw haw haw. Mmmmm.....waffles.....Thanks for the video. And the waffles. Just one issue here: 22:39 You said that you can plug two power sources in, the 8mm and the Anderson connector, and have them both charging the unit at the same time. That is not the case. The unit will favor the 8mm, meaning it will turn off the Anderson connector when it detects something plugged into the 8mm. You won't be getting two solar panels worth of power going into the unit. However, you can put two of the SolarSaga in parallel and get power from both. Jackery is out of stock on the special parallel wire/connector at the moment, but they will ship it to everyone who orders a Jackery 1000 when they come in, I believe at no further charge. They will contact owners of the unit via email. Don't take my word for it: check with 1. Jackery themselves, 2. Hobotech's March 18, 2020 Jackery 2000 launch video (3:40 - 6:12), 3. Hobotech's February 29, 2020 in-depth review video without solar panels due to unavailability of parallel connector set (11:03 - 13:35 (and 16:23 - 17:02), (Tom is technical (and funny), but not necessarily out of the stratosphere), and 4. DIY Solar with Will Prowse's review of this unit on March 4, 2020 (1:12 - 1:45). (Will is very very technical. I like that, even when I can't keep up). I highly recommend that everyone interested in buying the Jackery 1000, or just interested in the info, watch all three videos in their entirety.

@@CosmoWeems I think the Jackery is the way for me also. Others are tempting, but Jackery has a good track record and customer service. I'm not someone who has to have it all. Basically like you did - on the balance of things. I try not to get a case of analysis paralysis. I do enjoy the technical explanations, as I'm trying to learn. I can usually keep up with Tom at Hobotech, but I can only understand about half of Will's info when he really gets going. It's so easy and basic for him. I admire that. I'll keep trying though. And it's a good thing I don't have a waffle maker....

Yes I did a 24 hour cool down on AC then switched to DC test the run time. I did the test indoors for control. There are variables outdoors that will of course change the results. I have been running the Dometic 50L in my truck for a few years and love it. I have been running it off a Goal Zero Yeti 400 lithium with a Renogy 100 high efficiency panel but I hate that the Yeti shuts the fridge off at about 30% (even with the fridge battery protection on low) due to the lack of regulated 12v output. This is the main reason I’m considering the Jackery. Thanks for the reply and well done video on it!

Ya I hear ya. A freaking output regulator is $10 there is no excuse for not adding one. Hobo Tech and Will Prowse did great technical reviews. Every unit has shortfalls. you'd be surprised there are now 5volt rechargeable showers. Ironhammer sells theirs for 50$ can give you a good 2hour long shower. Just heat up your water, Put in bucket and enjoy. Has a 3 to 4 liter per min flow rate. Strong flow.

Its true if you compare this to that one unit maybe better in a category. For instance Apex can accept several solar panels and be recharged in 3 hours. But it does not have regulated 12V output. No name makers often do not include a balancer or regulator. There is a lot to evaluate. I tried to list what to look for. Its a paint to try and get that information from most of these makers. Jackery is not the fastest recharge, But they were very transparent on questions and honest, It is all about what features we need. Thank You for watching. No but other technical reviews think they are very good quality. Companies that are making these are springing up like mushrooms. You have to really check the product and the support well before buying. G. Zero has a good reputation and has succeeded in a tough market.

​@@CosmoWeems Not sure what you mean on 'Tough market' but goal zero's been around longer then any of the companies. I think the only other company that rivaled them was Brunton. But they retired their solar line for focusing on compasses. The only reason alot of these new solar generators and batteries are flowing on the market. Isn't to rival Goal Zero. It's cause Tesla has proved that Electric is the future. So battery devices are on demand with cars and other things now focusing on electric ability and renewable energy. But Goal zero's been doing this way before Tesla stepped up, Before anyone believed in the whole energy system. So they were never combo in the market. Even right now, The only other company that's similar to GZ. Is Renogy. Their also a old time solar battery company that knows their stuff. Most of the other energy companies are ether No-name brands buying resold items and stamping their logo on it. Or companies trying to over hype their product. Jackery is nice. But their explorers are far under then what their hyped to be. Goal zero blows them out of the water in both power and capabilities. And if you probably looked in ether of the two. Lot more simpler to look in or replace internals.

But you have to remember a very important factor: at full price, the Jackery 1000 is underpowered for the amount of money you spend and I'm not even sure a $200 discount is gonna offset that since it charges way too slowly. You'd be better off spending a few hundred more for an Ecoflow Delta which has double the usable inverter capacity and charges from 0-100% 4-5 times faster. While plugged into the grid, the Jackery 1000 takes at least 5 hours to charge. The Ecoflow Delta takes 1-2 hours. I watched a lot of reviews and comparison videos of the most popular solar generators for when I finally go full-time RV life and they all come out pretty clear: the Ecoflow Delta pretty much beats all of them including the Bluetti.

If you need the ECOflows fast charge time. Go for it. I am agnostic. I do like the portable power idea. Each of us has to choose what is best for our needs.
