I was so excited today because we had a scheduled outage for line maintenance and I got to really use the Jackery 1000 for the first time. I ran my deep freezer, wifi, phone charger and computer for work no problem and was able to move stuff around to where I had the solar panels outside keeping it charged. The solar was just about keeping up with the power demand. My gas fireplace was keeping the living half of my house warm and I made lunch on my gas grill today. I do have a 7500 running watts gas generator too but didn’t use it. It was nice to know I could have all the bare necessities running on a sunny day with just the Jackery 1000.

Yes, but a fridge, freezer, space heater, on-demand water heater, microwave, etc. doesn’t need to be plugged in constantly. If a fridge is run for a little while, a couple of times a day, that might be adequate, since they’re pretty well-insulated. Heating only a small room and keeping its doors closed, would minimize the heater use as well. Seems like a workable option for power outages, if you’re strategic about use.

I don't disagree- the Jackery is like the apple of solar generators, looks great - just works - isn't maybe as powerful as other products but you get a really solid little box. I have The Jackery 300 and use it for DC mostly but I always think about the ground not being there when using the high voltage inverter!

After reading many reviews and watching a lot of videos, I chose this option for my first backup power station. kzbin.infoUgkxHypYDKHAN93Lp2RQpfvU_ksc70wJ00pt I was between this and a larger option that could power a wider range of items, but the price/size/capacity blend seemed right for this unit. Hasn't gotten a ton of use yet, but the build quality is solid and it charges fine via the Rockpals solar panel I purchased to pair with it. One thing to note is that the screen is optimized for a top down viewing angle, which makes sense, but this means it washes out at other angles - especially low angles. Not a huge deal, but perhaps a better option for the display could be used to provide wider viewing angles.

@MicahGallant Жыл бұрын
really depends. how much are you pulling continuously? Are you assuming the sun will come out every day and for the same number of hours? Basically you need to overbuild your backup system, probably 5 times to make sure you have enough capacity for your expected usage or draw. It really comes down to trying it to see what works and add to your install if you find you need more. Jackeries are good for a day or two of charging cell phones or captions in emergencies. Might run freezer for 24 hours but don't expect to charge it fully the next day as most the power will be going to keeping the freezer running etc vs charging the battery so then you'd need a lot more solar. Solar should be in watts probably 10 times your average hourly consumption. since solar has to use only say 5 hours a day of sun to make up for 24 hours of draw

Most of the North American infrastructure was designed with a minimum of 60a services for their homes. With Majority of the newer ones having at least 100a... I highly doubt a single lithium battery would be able to provide you with 60-100a of power. Good clickbait though, a lot of people are trying to get off the grid these days.
