Everyone likes to rave on about Parkway Drive, but the honest truth is Make Them Suffer are arguably one of Australia's best live metal bands. Sure some parts a little rough around the edges, but wow. The vocalist alone can do what 99% of most metal bands can't do live and that is pull off studio vocals, not even Winston (as much as I love Parkway) can get near his studio lows or holds. The new album Old Souls is musically brilliant too.

These guys have become my favorite band I've ever gotten into, in a short period of time. They'll start getting popular, there's no way that they won't. This talent is so raw, itself and the originality, flavor and spin they put on everything is incredible. Not to mention they're able to perform live and sound pretty damn good. I read their lyrics just to read it as poetry and I'm using their concepts in my own artwork myself as an artist.

I understand the appeal of triggers live, but I've never thought that they sound good. I'd rather have the drums be mic'ed up. It's more inconvenient but it sounds SO much more organic and powerful.

A lot of bands don't sound anywhere near what they sound like on CDs when they play live. Like Thy Art Is Murder for example, Though they are getting better. It's more about the show and energy they put in when they play live in my opinion. Though Make Them Suffer were still quite good. But I, Valiance took band of the day at this gig. They sound pretty damn close live to what they do on their CDs.

for example Rings of Saturn sound pretty good live actually ... also speaking from my point of view , i put less effects on my vocals in my group , cus im training hard , so i sound just exactly like i sound on our studio recorded songs. I also like to see the energy on the stage , but i want to hear the vocals nice and good ... with no mic cupping and effects.For me less effects means that the group really have a vocalist who can reach all the screams just by himself and still sound brutal AND understandable :) . I don't say im the best death metal vocalist in the world , so please don't take me wrong ... i just thing u should be able to do the stuff u did on the album without problems ...

I know not to expect bands to be at 100% after 3-4 songs, as it is hard as fuck to growl/scream for that long. (PS sorry for grammar, drunk)

Basically, you either have two choices, you can stand there like an idiot and do a recreation of the studio sound, or you can go fucking wild and have a god damn good time while maybe sounding off here and there.
