Indeed! I'm endlessly trying to bring our fellow brethren to see the light, using historical references that directly pertain to us and cold hard facts and still, so many refuse to see.

I saw Clint about a minute after he started and it took me a couple of seconds to understand what he was doing. But after he looked at the chair and nodded in silence, I picked it up, was kind of like 'Waiting for Godot' in reverse. The reason he waited so long in silence was, he was 'LISTENING' to a politician. And as far as I'm concerned the Louder the consternation, the 'closer' to home the parody hit. Always loved your stuff, think you are a genius, Jackie Live long & prosper!!

Honestly dude, its based on a lot of historical factors, too many to name here, but that's starting to change, I live in Brooklyn and I can tell you they're are rapidly changing their affiliation more and more everyday

When I first saw the bit, I cringed a bit because Clint pulled off the doddering old guy bit a little too well. But after some time, the more I reflected on it and watched it again, the brilliance of the bit struck. The fact that Obama had to respond is evidence that he hit home. This really was a brilliant piece. This is going viral. People are going to put empty chairs out instead of campaign signs.

Jackie, It is my opinion that this is a slap in the face to ALL liberals. Clint Eastwood is an american icon, from his westerns, to Dirty Harry, to the fact that he is a successful mayor of Monterrey to the fact that he has an oscar, the left's Highest award. They cannot punish him, its not like they can say he is a bad actor, or a bad director, because he already has his acclaim from them, and I think THAT is what pisses them off most about this.

Allow me to quote from historian Eric Hobsbawm's "The Age of Extremes: A History of the World, 1914-1991," pages 128-29: "Hitler rapidly eliminated those who took the 'socialist' component in the name of the National Socialist German Workers' Party seriously-as he certainly did not. ... when he came to power, business collaborated whole-heartedly ..." You need to read actual historians and scholars such as Hobsbawm, rather than listening to clueless right-wing media manipulators.

could you explain something to me jackie? where did jews get the "tight with money" stigma? My experience with Jews are that they are very passionate,loyal,hard working. I have even heard jokes about being "tight." you are so funny one the best ever. from a gentile friend in Thanks for so many laughs!! you ever meet Elvis in Vegas etc?

Don't judge a book by its cover, dude. The "socialist" part merely constituted a superficial label, much like the Khmer Rouge's official title happened to be "Democratic Kampuchea." Do you really think that the Communist Khmer Rouge proved the least bit "democratic"? Heck, do you think that North Vietnam's "Democratic Republic of Vietnam" was actually a democracy as opposed to a Communist regime? Don't be so gullible.

If Jackie went to the RNC and gave a speech the media would do the same thing to him that they did to Clint.They'd name him "Wacky Jackie" and make fun of him regardless of what he said.I'm sure these liberal genuises at the press are are doing their darndest to come up with a derogatory rhyme for "Clint",but good luck with that.

Pro private business? No. And I ask you, were they pro labor? Did Mao, Stalin, and Castro protect workers? And you still can't tell me what criteria you have to decide whether a system is left or right wing.
@ChandlerPol12 жыл бұрын
"But after he looked at the chair and nodded in silence." Nodded in silence? Eastwood was rambling and babbling and any of his problems with Obama would have been worse with Romney, which is why none of it made sense.

"Republicans get jokes, the Liberals don't." Get a grip, dude. Republicans threw fits when liberal celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg made fun of Bush and if Eastwood had been engaging in this stunt at the DNC, conservatives would have been screaming about "Hollyweird." Also, the laughter was very much a nervous laughter, a sort of "What the hell? Where am I," sort of laughter.

Well, Jackie, obviously the audience loved it. They were all Republican Romney supporters. Small bias, wouldn't you say?
@bizopca5 жыл бұрын
The idea is that the news media should have reported that the audience did love it -- as opposed to presenting their critical analysis and substituting it for the audience's reaction.
