Jackie and her parents said from the beginning her untrained voice is a gift from God, and she feels something come upon her when she is singing. She also said from her voice, she wants the world to know that Miracles happen. Imo, we hear and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, that purifies the soul, and even brings tears to old men's eyes. :)

As a veteran myself and the father of two daughters, I can only imagine the heartbreak you must be experiencing. I pray that a kind, loving, and merciful God is able to heal you. Not everyone in this country is ungrateful for your father's service. There are a lot of fine Americans who have an enormous amount of respect for our veterans who gave everything so that they could enjoy life as free citizens. Good luck and best wishes!!

I'm a decorated soldier and won many awards in my tour as well as becoming "Soldier of The Year" for the entire U.S. Army. and yet I still hate the lies and deception we were fed in order to buy into killing mostly innocent civilians as usual.Then we go pull the same scam with Iraq and kill 600,000 MORE woman, kids and old people that had nothing to do with anything.I'm ashamed of this country and it's band of lying thugs who's sole aim is to get filthy rich like McNamara, Bush and Chaney.They get all the money while we soldiers can't get anywhere NEAR decent health care to simply feel good for a day or two. At age 14, this was one of 7 performances at an annual U.S. event. She appeared in Washington D.C. on three previous occasions, the first being the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at age 10 singing "O Holy Night". She followed this performance to sing "God Bless America" at A Capitol Fourth in 2016, and then sang the National Anthem for the Presidential Inauguration of 2017. To most American's she was an unknown, a nobody, unaware of her history of invitations to perform for national celebrations. The challenges she faced and overcame with integrity and grace are another discussion. But, Jackie had proven herself a highly desirable performer and a dignified representative of her country when she accepted the invitation. She was well known in Washington for her reliability, her patriotism and her exceptional voice. This was a solemn, heart-felt dedication to the honored as Jackie had intended, not an opportunity to showcase herself.

This comment got lost in the shuffle some months ago, so here again: I am a classically trained singer, pianist, organist, conductor, associate professor of music emeritus, active musician in many fields, and music Ph.D. etc. What matters so much to me is not whatever flaws classically trained singers can find in Jackie's singing, but the fact that this angelic youngster has a voice that sounds, maybe not to some, but to millions of us, like the voice of an angel, which was an admitted miracle [ABC program on astonishing child prodigies] when she first appeared in public at age eight, and has gotten richer but still angelic since then. She's been growing up from an enchanted wonder-child to an enchanting teen, who still gives concerts to sold-out venues of dumb folks like me who never gave a whit about vocal flaws, but love this kid, her supportive family and team at Sony, and are sometimes brought to tears by the beauty of her singing - her "perfect imperfections" and all. My experience is that classical training makes a person fit for opera, recitals, etc., but spoils one to the joy and magic of God-given amateur talents like Ms. Evancho's. Just as classically trained artists may not catch the greatness of various primitive art ... too bad!!!

Perfectly stated. I have thought this from the beginning about Jackie and also Patricia Janečková from the Czech Republic. When these two young women sing, the beauty of that music goes directly from their hearts and souls into ours. But of course the self-appointed experts on "classically-trained sopranos" just love to dig for every little flaw, real or imagined, in their performances. I could care less. What matters to me is the beauty of what I hear, and whether I see that it comes from the heart. Angelic, indeed! And you can tell that these two amazing young ladies really, Really love the music they sing, and are not simply giving us an exercise in their vocal range, exaggerated vibrato, overly-dramatic expressions and movements, and all rest of the "classically-trained singer" theatrics, with no sign of sincere emotion, as so many of the divas do. 💖💖

From the beginning, Jackie and her parents said she got her totally untrained voice from God. She felt something come upon her when she took the stage to sing, and wanted the world to know miracles happened by her voice. Some say the Jackie Effect makes grown men cry, but Imo, it's His Holy Spirit. We are all His instruments, but Jackie His Stradivarius. :)

I no doubt sound like a broken record because I have said this on so many Jackie Evancho videos. But this girl who has matured into such a beautiful young woman, drives me to tears in every single performance video she's in. I don't cry at songs. I can count on one hand how many other songs that have made me tear up in the past with fingers to spare. I first seen Jackie back in 2010, and ever since then I have been trying to figure out why it is Jackie has such an effect on me. It's not just her voice. As incredibly beautiful as it is, I know its not just that. There are female vocalists who probably sing better than Jackie. But I assure you I don't cry when seeing those. It's gotta be the total package. When I see Jackie performing, she has a kind of presence around her. Almost like an aura that surrounds her. She is the embodiment of perfection and she exudes purity. I know Jackie is a good person. It's hard to imagine her being maliciously mean to anyone. I would stake my life on her having the kindest of hearts. And I'm not a spiritual person. I'm not a religious person. I am an atheist. However my first comment I ever made about Jackie was saying that if anyone could have ever made me question my non-belief it would be Jackie Evancho, because she sings like an angel.
