I too cannot believe she was not one of the primary performers for the Pope. What a shame her angelic voice was not heard during the main portion of the Festival of Families. Obviously there were forces at work to get some people on the stage that did not deserve to be there.

Agreed! Stunning performance! Too bad most of the audience was waiting outside the venue for the Pope's motorcade! CNN gave Jim Gaffigan more coverage than Jackie! Jackie should have been the one to close the evening with TLP! Jackie didn't get much respect and I for one am mad as hell!

Sometimes I think there are people in the music biz who believe that Jackie is too young to be acknowledged for the artist that she is - somehow she has to "pay her dues" first. Meanwhile they had Aretha Franklin singing _Nessun Dorma_. It's petty, and it's wrong. But Jackie came through like a trouper, just as she always does. Someday the dam will burst, and Jackie will get the credit she deserves.

I spent a lot of time writing my letter to Arch Bishop Zubik of the Pittsburgh Diocese, follow-up phone calls and social media campaigns to help make this happen! I realize Jackie was a last minute add-in, but they could have given her a little more respect! I guess I should be happy the planning committee saw fit to add her at all! BTW a huge thank you to all of her fans who participated in the social media blitz!

I heard the sound check earlier than day. This was like a preconcert before the Pope arrived on The Parkway. I can't understand the actual line up of a few performers that did have the honor to play for Francis. The Fray, not a bad group...but odd choice. Aretha, ok she's a legend. But her performance was - sorry - it was just bad I thought. Jackie would have been a far better choice for the actual show. I'm not totally familiar with her, but she is very impressive.

Jackie is a real trouper! She thought she was going to be singing for the Pope but here she is regulated to 'fill' a spot before he arrived and the audience was milling about and not respecting the performance. Her disappointment never showed and I loved her singing.

Who is in charge of music in America. They should be sacked for missing such an opportunity to put this girl before the Pope. There is no greater voice in the states to present to him. It defies logic that the people who scheduled the performances for this event would have a rock band and a couple of screamers perform for the Pope instead of this Princess of Songbirds. In the five years since Miss Evancho skyrocketed to fame she has established herself, on an international level, as the quintessential female vocalist of our time.... It was difficult watching the Pope being subjected to the noise that was being presented to him. The look on his face said it all. He was obviously disgusted and harangued. Poor man was subjected to odious sounds meant for a barroom crowd comfortable with the sound of baying beasts.

Yes, and unlike some of the other performers, Jackie is actually a devout Catholic. She would have been deeply honored to have the Pope hearing her actual performance. And this is the kind of deeply moving, religious, and inspiring performance a Pope should definitely hear. Unfortunately Pope Francis has surrounded himself with a bunch of idiot lefties, who do not always protect the best interests of the Papacy or the Catholic church.
