In some cultures the "drenching of the wedding dresses would have been interpreted as a bad omen " It turns out it was!! Though all the "nice" things were told, ten years on she became a widow, next came the worldshaking news about onasis. She wanted style, glamour, pleasure, and onasis provided it for her.
@Cafemarlene884 жыл бұрын
I think we should try not to judge her. Preferably face up to the fact that after her husband and brother- in -law were assassinated she feared for her own two children and thought it was a good decision to take. She would be on a private island in Greece with all the security needed.
@natascha58642 жыл бұрын
Kithsiri RUBESINGHE I read a biography about her, and there she was said to have been very much in fear, after her husband and her brother in law had been shot, and is said to have wanted to flee the country and get out of there, before her children would be shot next! She said; ..."They are killing Kennedies, and my children are the next target!"...She did have a point, not many women lose their family members in peaceful times in such a manner!..And since they were famous, they couldn´t really hide away, Photographers were always trying to get pictures. It frightened her very much! But, you are right, the drenching of the dresses made me think exactly the same; BAD OMEN! Onassis was the perfect choice for her. She had known him before already, he was "outside the country", was rich, had security personell, bodyguards for her protection, AND he was very kind to her children as well.

Maria Jelabina There is a big difference between catering being late or mixing up a menu item, or placing people at the wrong table those are the kinds of things one would expect to go wrong at a wedding. A wedding dress is the main event, in some ways the bride is the most important person at the wedding mainly because society has created this. It’s not superstition when the focal point of an event is destroyed, not just an event-it’s a GRAND event. It’s a clear message.
