I'm a Yorkshireman born of 100% Glaswegian parentage and grandparents. The bagpipes were meant to both rally your own side and terrify the opposition in battle. My oldest daughter went out with a chap for a few years who was actually terrified whenever he heard the bagpipes being played. Which he unfortunately did. Because I used to drive the family up to visit the old country every couple of years to tour the sites and just generally chill out in the highlands for a holiday.

I'm Scottish blood (both parents Scots born) been Back in Scotland a number of times since the 60's, always loved the pipes (they can bring tears to my eyes), but had NEVER EVER before seen a set of pipes that belches flames from out the top of it's drone pipes. I've seen some great performers out there while having a beer at Sail & Anchor in Freo. I think I saw this bloke at Little Creatures though
